Sarah Palin was a great choice!  For the past couple of months, I mostly ignored the little on-line polls asking who you want McCain to pick for his running mate, assuming they were gimmicks and nobody would pay attention to the vote anyway, but near the end I took the bait and voted for Sarah Palin.  What a pleasant surprise to learn that McCain actually picked her!          (click to read more)

No one likes war.  War is an horrific affair, bloody, and expensive.  Sending our men and women into battle to perhaps die or be maimed is an unconscionable thought.

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don't quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren't listening. We tend to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco. – Sarah Palin
