“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin

"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever.  But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with."

--Ronald Reagan

“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924)

The reality is that when you take children from their mothers and put them in the hands of the state or its subordinate agents you ultimately do more damage to them than almost any abuse they might have suffered at home. – Michael Reagan

Ben Stein’s “Expelled”              By Theresa Camoriano

I left the movie “Expelled” with tears in my eyes, because it showed so clearly how science (the search for truth) is being perverted and politicized today and because it gave a dark glimpse of where that perversion may lead.             (click to read more)

To condemn free-market capitalism because of anything going on today makes no sense. There is no evidence that capitalism exists today. We are deeply involved in an interventionist-planned economy that allows major benefits to accrue to the politically connected of both political parties. One may condemn the fraud and the current system, but it must be called by its proper names — Keynesian inflationism, interventionism, and corporatism. – Ron Paul

An Inconvenient Truth About Ethanol.             By Richard Charles Antolinez

Food prices are soaring because corn is being used for ethanol production, and food riots are breaking out in many places.  E10 or 90% gasoline 10% ethanol is supposed to only reduce fuel mileage by 2% to 3%.  I don’t know how they came by their numbers, but I assume they simply deduced that ethanol has about 30% less British Thermal Units, and since it made up of 10% of E10, then about a 3% reduction in mileage could be expected.  This is the way the morons in labs think, especially when their job depends on it.  Many vehicles are seeing a 10% or more drop in fuel mileage.  You see no vehicle is designed to run on E10, and it simply is out of tune for E10.           (click to read more)

In the end, all the cutbacks and sacrifices won’t make any difference, because our climate is not driven by carbon dioxide – but by the same natural forces that have caused major and minor climate changes since the dawn of time, say scientists like Roy Spencer, Robert Balling and Fred Singer. – Paul Driessen

In an ‘Absolut’ World, Illegals Would Stay at HOME!             By: Michael A. Minton

I know I’m a few days late in getting the jump on this story, but so much has been going on, and it’s just hard for one man, even one as good as me, to do it all! But, I try.

It seems that our “friends” at Absolut vodka have chosen to market to Mexicans in a very unique way. They have chosen to go for the heart of Mexicans. Am I talking about Mexico City, the capital? No. I am talking about Aztlan. Aztlan is the part of Mexico that was sold to the United States in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.            (click to read more)

I am not anti-intellectual. I've read Sophocles in Greek, Ovid in Latin and Baudelaire in French. That makes me more educated than the average bear, but I still don't know how to fix my car. And if life has taught me anything, it is to not assume that when people hold an opinion different from mine, it is because they are bitter, do not know what is in their own best interests and should be wearing T-shirts printed with, "I'm with stupid." – Debra Saunders

This little piggy went to market             By Jim Waters

Finding better ways to get products to market dominates most discussions about farming in America.

Perhaps we need more talk about getting the market — as in “free market” — back to the farm.

My late grandfather, a tobacco farmer, also raised dairy cattle and grew the family food. Folks today would not consider granddaddy wealthy. But to my siblings and me, he was a gold mine.            (click to read more)

Even for non-Catholics like me, there's something comforting about a stubborn pope in a world of moral relativity. Like a strong father, he ignores his children's pleas for leniency knowing that his rules, though tough, serve a higher purpose. – Kathleen Parker

Strange Days in the Palestinian Territories                  By: Michael A. Minton

There sure are some strange things taking place in the Middle East right now. And I don’t like any of it! This past week has been one of historic proportions. First we have this crazed liberal, former President Jimmy Carter, going to Israel on what he likes to think of as a goodwill mission. The only problem there is, where’s the goodwill?           (click to read more)

It may come as a surprise that the traveling public has to rely chiefly on the self-interest of airlines to keep their planes in one piece. But guess what? It works. – Steve Chapman

Americans achieved a living standard that is the envy of the world. It is the direct result of the large degree of economic freedom we have enjoyed. Unleashing the lawyers to "protect" us will kill many, many dreams. – John Stossel
