"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever.  But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with."

--Ronald Reagan

Pro-lifers like to ask, "How many Einsteins have we lost to abortion?" I ask: How many Reagans have we lost to campaign-finance reform? … You want Reagan back? Restore the right to free speech, and you will have created the conditions that allowed Reagan to run. – Ann Coulter

Health Insurance, Shootings, and Profit           By Theresa Camoriano

1.       Health Insurance – In the Texas debate, Mrs. Clinton said that what gets her out of bed every morning is her desire to make a difference in our lives.  In particular, she does not want health insurance companies to continue to have the power to decide who will live and who will die.  Apparently, she would prefer to have the government do it.  Unfortunately, that’s not the kind of difference I would like her to make in my life!        (click to read more)

Casinos in Kentucky?           by Jeff "Mario" Smith, Guerilla Reporter

If you want your state 'gubbament cheese' crowd to legalize casinos so they can get their hands on an alleged $500 Million, which means that Kentuckians have to lose at least $1.5 Billion, then don't show up in Frankfort on March 5th at 11:00 AM. Charter-school bill filed: Regaining the ‘promised land’         From the Bluegrass Institute

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – A school-choice bill filed Tuesday by Rep. Stan Lee would add Kentucky to a growing list of states with charter schools.

House Bill 578 would allow local school boards, universities or local governments to sponsor charter schools – public schools operated by groups of parents, teachers, other individuals or private organizations.        (click to read more)

Compassionate Socialists like Joe Kennedy         By Tom DeWeese, DeWeese's Daily Dose

You've seen his face on TV telling us about "our good friends in Venezuela" who provide reduced-price heating oil for the poor. Joe shares heart-rending stories of how his wonderful partnership with South American strongman Hugo Chavez has helped so many downtrodden Americans. It's all so warm and loving and special. Isn't Socialism compassionate?

The chilling impact of big government       By Jim Waters

WASHINGTON — I’m in the nation’s Capitol, where I testified in support of allowing the marketplace, not government, to determine wage scales paid on public projects, especially schools.

But for a moment, let me explain how some cold winds blew my thoughts back home.        (click to read more)

In the Spirit of Unity…          By: Michael A. Minton

In the spirit of unifying the Republican party, about which I spoke in a previous blog post, I would like to congratulate John McCain on his victories. This puts us just inches away from having an “official” nominee, although it became rather obvious once Gov. Romney dropped out so gracefully that Sen. McCain would be the chosen one.        (click to read more)

"Some have suggested that in today's world, the family has somehow become less important. Well, I can't help thinking just the opposite: that when so much around us is whispering the little lie that we should live only for the moment and for ourselves, it's more important than ever for our families to affirm an older and more lasting set of values. Yet, for all that, in recent decades the American family has come under virtual attack. It has lost authority to government rule writers. It has seen its central role in the education of young people narrowed and distorted. And it's been forced to turn over to big government far too many of its own resources in the form of taxation. Even so, the family today remains the fundamental unit of American life. But statistics show that it has lost ground, and I don't believe there's much doubt that the American family could be, and should be, much, much stronger." ---Ronald Reagan

At least one is able to clearly see a liberal for what he or she is when they have a "D" behind their name. But put an "R" behind the name and suddenly their liberal, Big-Government, anti-freedom agenda is barely recognized, which makes a liberal Republican much more dangerous than a liberal Democrat – Chuck Baldwin

"[R]eligion, or the duty which we owe to our creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence..." ---Article 16 of the Virginia Bill of Rights

[I]n post-Judeo-Christian America, the sports club is the new church. Global warming is the new religion. Vegetarianism is the new sacrament. Hooking up, the new prayer. Talk therapy, the new witnessing. Tattooing and piercing, the new sacred symbols and rituals.  And apparently, Barack Obama is the new messiah. – The Patriot Post
