Are You Anti-American?

John Holshouser

If an American is defined as one who believes in the U.S. Constitution and the principals the country was founded and built on, then an American believes that the Central Government is there to provide a common defense for “Independent, Sovereign” States and to regulate interstate commerce, and little else. The founding fathers wrote about the dangers of ever letting the central government become involved in confiscating people’s property and distributing it to others. They warned that this “Largess” would be the downfall of the country if it was ever allowed. The central government was clearly blocked from being involved in education, medicine, or any other form of welfare. The president of the U.S. is mainly there as a military leader. Congress is supposed to meet one to two weeks per year, during the fall, and should never receive a salary or other benefits from confiscated property of the citizens. Power flows down from the states to the central government, not the other way around.

If you are not aware of the foundation of this country, why aren’t you? Could it be that the teachers you have had do not wish you to understand and believe in “The American Way”? The Constitution is readily available for your reading. History, though the NEA seems to want to keep you from knowing it, is readily available for those who wish.

There have been numerous world leaders that have used the idea of government providing for people to promote their acquisition of power. The best known of these would be one Adolph Hitler. NAZI is merely an abbreviation for National Socialist’s Party of Germany.

If, for example, California wishes to pay 80% of their income in taxes and have a large welfare program, that is their right. If Texas wishes to require their citizens to graduate from college, that is their right. It is not, however, the option of the central (Federal) government to confiscate property of people in one state to distribute to people in another. Independent, Sovereign States have their own laws, and if you don’t like the laws in the state you live in, you have the option of moving, or campaigning to change the laws.

It is not, for example, up to a central government to tell people in Alaska that they can’t produce their own resources.

It is alarming to see how many people in this country exhibit so little knowledge of what the country is supposed to be. An ignorant population is the only way you can implement socialism. An idea that sounds good on the surface, but has never worked throughout history. You can call them liberals, socialists, communists, Marxists or whatever term you like, but they are very Anti-American.

So, now that you have the definition and basic understanding of why we were formed with the government structured as it was, are you American, or Anti-American?
