Uncle Sam wants you to shut up, pay and obey

I am 56 years old. To many of you I could be your Mother. Actually, my own now 28-year-old son first introduced me to My Space (blogging), signed me up and got me started.

When I was in high school and college sex, drugs, rock n’ roll, smoking, trans fats, seat belts, helmets, bigoted aka hate speech, bullying (whatever that means), protesting, and other assorted activities were either right or wrong from a social, moral or health perspective. However, your personal behavior was guided by “Miss Manners,” your doctor, your momma, your religion, plus a hefty dose of your conscience and common sense, but not the government and its “rule enforcers” known as the police!

And, what is this ever-expanding, perverted “public good” ideology that what you do in the privacy of your home or business, and how you parent your children, is anyone’s concern other than your own? Here I am specifically alluding to the new laws passing smoking and trans fats bans in falsely-defined “public places;” and, forcing parents to vaccinate young girls for cervical cancer; and threatening jail for other parents who may disapprove of vaccinating their children. When I grew up, the accepted wisdom was “a man’s home and business is his castle; and, Father and Mother know best!”

Also in the old days, when I got into a teenage tiff with my parents, they would tell me I pay the bills here so you follow my rules! That sounded pretty logical to me then and it still does now!

Property rights are the foundation of freedom. What you do in and with your honestly acquired property, and that includes your commercial business, should be strictly up to you. No smoking bans, illegal products, fat bans, obscenity rules, restrictions on the right to contract, associate, hire, fire, or any other voluntary peaceful action in a privately owned establishment in a free country should be tolerated!

Nowadays in America you pay the bills and the government makes the rules.

Wake up fellow Americans. This is totally sick, un-American, and certainly not the definition of freedom.

Also, our crazy President, and the rest of the gang in Washington, should stop trying to rule the whole wide world and bring the troops home from foreign soil now!  Arrogant government busy bodies are the cause of world terrorism and assorted problems too numerous to mention. War sucks and is hell to say the least! You and your friends come home as a pile of goo in an oversized garbage bag so that politicians and elites can feel powerful and share the bootie with their preferred criminal gang.

You, America’s youth, are being subjected to an authoritarian socialist system with a dictator at the helm, and you are being deprived of getting to know what the thrill of freedom and personal responsibility even feels like! You are not being shown that the real way to peace at home and abroad is through friendship, travel and trade, not perpetual war and foreign meddling.

The government is the only organization I know of who “services” people with guns!

Use your technological skills and energy to break your chains. You have the brains and ability to harness this awesome tool, the Internet, and potentially restore our lost Liberty and bring prosperity and happiness to the planet for yourselves, your children, and what’s left of us geezers.

You only get one life. Go for it with gusto!
