"You don't make the poor richer by making the rich poorer." ---Winston Churchill

“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin
"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with." --Ronald Reagan
“Give me four
years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be
uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) |
People with such a tolerant mindset are in effect saying that blacks are not to be held to civilized standards of conduct and academic expectations that might be enforced for others. That's a disgusting and debilitating notion. I guarantee you that years ago, such nonsense would not have been tolerated, and a person making excuses for barbaric behavior by black students would have been considered a lunatic. – Walter Williams
They have a nerve! (Library Tax, School Choice) By Theresa Camoriano Louisville Library Tax Proposal - Employees of the Louisville Library have been promoting the library tax referendum during working hours, while they were being paid by the taxpayers. In short, they have used our hard-earned tax money to lobby against us for still higher taxes. Kentucky Senator Seum is proposing a law that will make it illegal for government employees to use taxpayer resources for lobbying purposes. This certainly is an area in which the playing field needs to be leveled so the taxpayers are not constantly at a disadvantage. For more information about plans to improve the library system without new taxes, see the following: (click to read more)
The Commies are coming! by Henry Lamb It is getting increasingly difficult to distinguish between the agenda of the Democratic Party and the agenda of the Communist Party. Joelle Fishman, chairwoman of the Political Action Committee, CPUSA, says: Our party has an important role to play in keeping the focus on the fight for a new direction in our country for jobs, health care and an end to the war. That is how the 2008 elections will be won. (click to read more)
Give ‘NC-LBJ’ an ‘F’ By Jim Waters When President George W. Bush signed into law “No Child Left Behind” six years ago, I thought we were finally on track to improve education. Boy, was I wrong. How did I get snookered into believing that a massive government-spawned education program could result in meaningful change in public schools? Common sense went on vacation that day. "A substantial number of Americans, perhaps a majority, believe that government should dictate where people live, what their housing structures should look like, and how they should be constructed. They believe it is right for government to dictate what curriculum children should study in school. They believe it is right for government to dictate which land should be cultivated, and which land should not be touched by humans. They believe it is right for government to dictate the kind of automobiles that are available for people to purchase. Simply put, a substantial number of Americans believe it is right for government to dictate how people should live. They believe that government should 'engineer' society. How different is this modern attitude from the belief system that led Americans into war to defeat the Nazis' efforts to engineer society. How different is this modern attitude from the belief system that led our founders to declare that the Creator, not government, endowed people with equal rights to '...life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.' How different is this modern attitude from the notion that legitimate government is empowered only by the consent of the governed. Society has been successfully engineered to believe that the goal is no longer freedom, but the control of government, which means the control of society, to fit the agenda of the controlling party. The idea of entering public service as an elected official in order to limit the power of government, and maximize the freedom of individual citizens, is an obsolete concept." ---Henry Lamb

[A]ccording to the first complete survey of the economic effects of climate change for the world, global warming will actually save lives. – Bjorn Lomborg Since NAFTA took effect in 1994, the United States has enjoyed a net increase of nearly two million jobs per year, with compensation in three-fourths of the new jobs above the national median. – Dr. Mark W. Hendrickson In a society founded on political and economic liberty, government schools have no place. Free men and women do not entrust to the state the molding of their children's minds and character. – Jeff Jacoby
