The facts are in By Brett Gaspard
America needs a strong leader, a stark contrast to Clinton and Bush. The largest voting block in our country is not made up of Republicans or Democrats—they are by far Independents. Our nation is at a crossroads. The average voter is simply fed up with the choice between neo-conservatives and neo-socialists, because in the end, they really aren’t that different. Who will rise up to fill this void?
Consider this: Among GOP presidential hopefuls, only one can say the following:
He has the most military contributions of any candidate. He is the most searched for name on the Internet. He has won more straw polls than any other candidate. He has more than 30,000 volunteers, dwarfing all of his challengers. He has more cash on hand than all but two rivals. Over 99% of his donations have come from individuals. He has the most subscribers on YouTube, Meetup and Eventful. He leads all Internet traffic by a whopping 45%.
He has never voted to raise
taxes.
He does not participate in
the lucrative congressional pension program.
He is the only Republican who voted against the Iraq War. He leads all candidates in military supporters, including the Democrats. He is the only candidate who can overcome democratic scrutiny on the war. He has defeated incumbents three times. He has served a total 10 terms in Congress. He has represented a widely diverse district, winning re-election by a landslide 20%.
More than 38% of Americans identify themselves as Independents. He is the only candidate who clearly identifies with Independent voters.
He was one of only four Congressmen to support Ronald Reagan in 1976. He has never been involved in a scandal. He has a perfect anti-tax record.
He has delivered over 4000 babies, many while home on off-days from Congress. He voluntarily left Congress for 12 years and returned to his medical practice. He is not a career-politician. He is a humble man, a military veteran, a true leader.
He has been married for 50 years, has five children and 18 grandchildren. The name of this hero is Dr. Ron Paul.
His supporters are faithful and true. Just like he will not abandon us, we will not abandon him. If conservatives divide up their votes elsewhere, it will result in the loss of liberty. Again, because Ron Paul’s voter base is so rock solid, it only hurts the conservative movement to look elsewhere. Ron Paul is perfectly pro-life, perfectly pro-growth, and perfectly pro-liberty. He is leading in the money, leading in the straw polls, leading among members of the military, and leading on the Internet.
In terms of his position on the War in Iraq, don’t mistake truth for weakness and courage for fear. Ron Paul will most certainly protect Americans from terrorists, not by fighting an unjust war based upon clearly false pretenses, but rather by engaging the enemy in a fashion that doesn’t leave 5000 Americans dead and 30,000 wounded.
A nation doesn’t fight small cells of elusive terrorists by placing 157,000 American sons and daughters in the line of fire as sitting ducks, but rather by building up a strong national defense like Ronald Reagan and sending in our own elite special forces to hunt down the enemy. They need to be the targets, not our sons and daughters. We can’t afford these losses—emotionally, spiritually, physically, or financially.
Our national intelligence agencies have failed. The Bush policy in the Middle East has failed. Our nation is in shambles. More of the same simply will not do.
America needs a new direction and a new brand of leader. Ron Paul is that leader. Ron Paul offers hope to our great nation. Let us embrace that hope. Let us embrace Ron Paul.
