“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin

"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever.  But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with."

--Ronald Reagan

“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924)

Human activities are not influencing the global climate in a perceptible way. Climate will continue to change, as it always has in the past, warming and cooling on different time scales and for different reasons, regardless of human action. I would also argue that—should it occur—a modest warming would be on the whole beneficial.-- S. Fred Singer – Professor Emeritus of Environmental Sciences University of Virginia

Disarming Louisville’s West End, Corrupting Influence of Casinos and Plastic Bags, Military Draft          By Theresa Camoriano

Disarming – Louis Coleman, who claims to care about black people, has been working to disarm residents of Louisville’s West End, which is largely inhabited by blacks and has a high crime rate.  Condoleeza Rice has noted that, when she was a child and the police stood by and allowed the Ku Klux Klan to attack her neighborhood, the residents armed themselves to protect and defend their families.  If Coleman really cared about the safety of people in Louisville’s West End, he would want them to be armed and capable of defending themselves when the police can’t or won’t.  Instead of promoting gun buy-backs to disarm the people, he would follow the lead of Israel and Switzerland, promoting gun training and helping make gun ownership more affordable, so the honest, law-abiding residents of Louisville’s West End would be able to protect themselves against the criminals, who always will have guns.  Of course, Coleman himself lives in a much safer, upscale neighborhood, where owning a gun for self-defense is less critical to survival.  Is it possible that Coleman really is working secretly for the Klan?         (click to read more)

The Tragedy of Hokie Hoplophobia          By Gordon Francis Corbett

On 16 April 2007, South Korean immigrant Cho Seung-Hui murdered thirty-two people at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute.  He had lied when he completed the BATF Form 4473's to buy his pistols.  Where they asked whether he had been mentally ill, he answered, "No."  Actually, he had been confined for mental defect.

Other facts have emerged from the dictionary.  If you look in any good dictionary, you will find the word "hoplite."         (click to read more)

'Big Brother' bully becomes boss          by Henry Lamb

Few people saw it coming. Many are still oblivious. But it is here, and growing – administrative government. What made America great was the creation of a government designed to exercise only the power granted to it by the people who are governed. The Declaration of Independence says it quite clearly: "Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."          (click to read more)

Should we laugh or cry when Leno goes ‘Jaywalking’?          By Jim Waters

America’s founders knew an uninformed citizenry presented a greater threat to freedom than military power.

Thomas Jefferson wrote: “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”          (click to read more)

Is private property really foundation of prosperity?         by Henry Lamb

Is private property the foundation of prosperity? America's founders were convinced that it is. For more than a century, the vast majority of Americans and their elected representatives were convinced that it is. In the last half-century, the majority of Americans and their elected representatives have lost sight of this fundamental principle of freedom, and have allowed governments at every level to take, or to take control of, the foundation of prosperity for all Americans.          (click to read more)

Jimmy Carter’s Real Calling; It’s Not About Integrity with input from Naval Academy Alumni

by Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter

Being tied into the Veteran community and having an internet connection provides me with a wealth of information about Veteran’s issues. This particular issue, however, is a bigger issue than just a Veteran issue. It is about integrity, something all of us should constantly strive to attain and something no President of the United States should lack. Unfortunately, one would have to be living in a vacuum to believe that integrity is still a quality a President has to have to be elected. It is now about marketing of an image, a false image at that. I give you Bill “That depends on what the meaning of the word is is” Clinton as the most shining example of that sad fact.         (click to read more)

"It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow."

-- Alexander Hamilton and James Madison (Federalist No. 62, 1788)

One of the great non sequiturs of the left is that, if the free market doesn't work perfectly, then it doesn't work at all-- and the government should step in. Thomas Sowell

If we’re not going to let our soldiers fight with everything they’ve got, and fight to win, then we shouldn’t be sending them at all. Enough is enough. – Chuck Muth

Many on the political left are so entranced by the beauty of their vision that they cannot see the ugly reality they are creating in the real world. – Thomas Sowell
