"You don't make the poor richer by making the rich poorer." ---Winston Churchill

“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin
"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with." --Ronald Reagan
“Give me four
years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be
uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) |
"To live in the presence of great truths and eternal laws, to be led by permanent ideals---that is what keeps a man patient when the world ignores him, and calm and unspoiled when the world praises him." ---Honore De Balzac
Taxes and Growth, Money for Infrastructure, Virginia Tech, Global Warming Solution By Theresa Camoriano Taxes and Growth – The Kentucky legislature is going into a special session to provide tax rebates to try to entice Peabody Energy to build a coal gasification plant in the state. Meanwhile, Louisville is planning huge tax rebates to encourage downtown construction. Obviously, elected officials understand that reducing the burden of taxes encourages growth. Unfortunately, they only reduce the tax burden for their favorites – usually large, visible businesses -- not for small business people who invest their own money, pay full freight in taxes, and collectively generate the largest number of jobs. Too bad “equal protection under the law” is a myth. (click to read more)
Global warming hysteria is new eugenics By Henry Lamb The BP oil company ads on television are, or should be, enough to make you never buy another drop of British-Petroleum gasoline. The farmer-type guy who stands there and talks about how wonderful it would be if you could grow a crop, convert it into fuel and put it in your tractor to plant next year's crops is disingenuous, deceptive and disgusting. So is the ad that shows a kid, holding what looks like a sugar beet, talking about making fuel out of the thing he's holding and replanting it year after year. BP airs these ads to suggest that it is working toward converting to this new "natural" fuel. (click to read more)
Morality By Gordon Francis Corbett The Oxford English Dictionary defines the adjective "right" as, "...3a.a. That which is consonant with equity or the light of nature; that which is morally just or due." My father taught me that living truly well requires telling right from wrong and standing by the right. Abnegation of this sacred duty begins a long slide into the abyss of immorality. (click to read more)
Partisans of freedom By Jim Waters One fan e-mailed recently to accuse me of heresy for claiming not to care who wins November’s gubernatorial election. “That makes you a loud clanging gong,” he determined. “Pick a team and get in the game.” Judging from the ensuing e-mail stream, my general disinterest in the outcome of the current campaign, which will soon mercifully end, has gained me at least one ex-fan. DEFENSE DEPARTMENT DENIZENS CODDLE CALIFORNIA COLLEGE
From Mountain States Legal Foundation
On April 5, 2005, the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC) hosted a job fair for
students seeking to learn about post-graduate employment opportunities. Along with
representatives of 60 companies such as Broadcom, Infineon, and American Express were
Army, Navy, and Marine Corps recruiters. Within moments, however, 100 student protesters
infiltrated the job fair, surrounded the recruiters’ tables, linked arms to deny access to those
tables, and chanted anti-military rants. Meanwhile, another 200 student protesters remained
outside the building, barricading the entrances and cheering in support of their compatriots.

SLEEPING AMERICANS: WAKE UP! THE FORM OF YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN CHANGED! From Norm Davis Sleeping Americans: Wake Up! Not only has the form of your government has been changed, you are now being asked to consign yourself by approving of this newly installed militarized global government management system. Taking advantage of the trust you have placed in those whom you have elected to public office, and without your required prior approval, a global government system has been laid down upon you! The manipulators do not think you care about what is happening, because you did not object to the major transformation they pulled off -- right under your nose! Are you really willing to accept the disastrous alterations in the operating concepts of your government, so that this major change in your government system has been tolerated without much more than a slight whimper! TIGER AND THE USA by Major Mark Smith, Retired I was watching Tiger Woods playing in the PGA Championship and my mind drifted back to his father Earl, a Special Forces Soldier. When Tiger was coming to Thailand to play the media and politicians began a drumbeat about making him a Thai citizen. This was based on his mother being Thai. They found out that Tiger was very proud of his mother but he was one hundred percent American. (click to read more)

Democrats know they'll be crucified at the polls if they ever do what they say they want to do to the economy in the name of protecting the environment, so instead they'll move the ball a few yards here, a few yards there, giving Hollywood environmentalists enough to keep the checks coming in, but not so much that Rosie and Babs would have to give up their private planes and limousines. Because at the end of the day, the environment is just the Left's collectivist economic agenda, wrapped up in a biodegradable green bow. Tom Delay

Democrats fight tooth and nail against any measures that would actually help the poor, such as allowing schools to fire bad teachers. – Ann Coulter When the most extreme forms of language and behavior come to be seen as normal -- civilization is transformed into barbarism. – Michael Reagan Democratic tolerance means tolerance for secularism, but absolute intolerance for religion. Democratic tolerance means tolerance for their supporters, but absolute intolerance for their political opponents. – Ben Shapiro
“The economic merit of any given technology is inversely related to the amount of advocacy you hear for that technology in Washington or the state capitols.” -- Jerry Taylor, Cato Institute
