“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin

"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever.  But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with."

--Ronald Reagan

“Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924)

Even granting that there are people who fear Islam, how does that in any way correlate with racism? If fear of an ideology rendered one racist, all those who fear conservatism or liberalism should be considered racist. .. Islam, or Christianity, or Judaism, or Buddhism should be just as subject to criticism as conservatism or liberalism. Dennis Prager

Red Tape Costs Lives          By Theresa Camoriano

The recent bridge collapse in Minneapolis is a reminder that government waste, red tape, and political grandstanding cost real human lives.

Gasoline taxes are supposed to be used to build and maintain roads, highways, and bridges, but much of that money is diverted to other projects, meaning that less money is available to build and maintain our infrastructure.  That is why bridges that need repairs are not getting them, and, unfortunately, in Minneapolis the result was a bridge collapsing and people dying and being injured.      (click to read more)

A Real Conspiracy         By Clarice Ryan

The World Book Encyclopedia defines conspiracy as an agreement between two or more persons to do something against the law.  The dictionary adds the word "secret".

The term "conspiracy" is tossed around a lot.  If something appears too extreme and unbelievable to be true it is easily labeled a conspiracy with a giggle, a wink and rolling of the eyes.   Unfortunately, this is why many critical, current events are escaping scrutiny, completely overlooked by an uninformed, naive public, news media, and even by our elected government officials .   Just because something is labeled a conspiracy does not necessarily mean that a conspiracy does not exist or that it is not actually happening.   Even when authoritative, credible information is available, it is often shrugged off by those who simply cannot accept the fact  that such happenings could be possible.      (click to read more)

Legerdemain and the Border Fence       By Gordon Francis Corbett

When two parties are having a dispute, and the informed one diverts the ignorant one from the real issue, the weaker one must lose.

"The Establishment" are the informed party.  They want "One World," otherwise known as world government.  As a step toward that goal, they have created the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America," the first step toward a "North American Union," the planned merger of our country with Canada and Mexico.  Their next intended step is forming the "Free Trade Area of the Americas" (FTAA), which would expand the N.A.U. into a hemisphere-wide international merger.       (click to read more)

Political pandering precipitates pension problem            By Jim Waters

Most Kentuckians are reasonable people. Whether on the left, right or in the middle, they care deeply about their communities and want their kids and future Kentuckians to prosper and live free.

Whenever those ideals get threatened, Kentuckians of all political stripes and flavors have a common response: They don’t like it.       (click to read more)

Sheep, Wolves & Sheepdogs  (From a reader - source not confirmed)

This letter was written by Charles Grennel . Grennel is an Army Reservist who spent two years in Iraq and was a principal in putting together the first Iraq elections, January of 2005. It was written to Jill Edwards, a student at the University of Washington who did not want to honor Medal of Honor [recipient] USMC Colonel Greg Boyington. Ms. Edwards and other students (and faculty) do not think those who serve in the U.S. armed services are good role models.       (click to read more)

“Liberals love to talk about this or that human right, such as a right to health care, food or housing. That’s a perverse usage of the term ‘right.’ A right, such as a right to free speech, imposes no obligation on another, except that of non-interference. The so-called right to health care, food or housing, whether a person can afford it or not, is something entirely different. It does impose an obligation on another. If one person has a right to something he didn’t produce, simultaneously and of necessity it means that some other person does not have right to something he did produce. That’s because, since there’s no Santa Claus or Tooth Fairy, in order for government to give one American a dollar, it must, through intimidation, threats and coercion, confiscate that dollar from some other American. I’d like to hear the moral argument for taking what belongs to one person to give to another person.”Walter Williams

The CO2 witch doctors view a modest rise in the Earth's temperature with the alarm of Stone Age savages in Borneo encountering a 747. It's as if the surface temperature of the planet has been a constant for the past 5 billion years and suddenly things are heating up -- due to greenhouse gases. Don Feder

The pro-aborts cry that they want to make abortion rare and safe! Do they apply the same standards to dog-fighting: let’s make them rare and safe? Is the killing of a dog more heinous than the dismemberment of a child? – Coach Dave Daubenmire

All of the left's quasi-religions (including global warming) seek to take us to the same final destination -- a state of rigid control, central planning, rationing, pre-industrial living standards and flagellation to purge us of our sins. Don Feder

By repeating the mantra “the debate is over,” when thoughtful observers know it isn’t, the Hystericals are screaming one thing loud and clear for the whole world to hear: “We don’t have the science to back us up.” – Frank Pastore
