We Do Not Need Immigration Reform We Need Immigration Enforcement

by Richard Lewis

The United States has immigration laws and those laws are adequate to our nation’s needs.

It would be bad enough if our immigration laws had simply not been enforced, but the situation is far worse. Illegal immigration has actually been encouraged by business-government partnerships.

When our government refuses to prosecute banks for providing credit cards and mortgage loans to illegal aliens, it is facilitating illegal immigration and at the same time encouraging and permitting banks to commit felonies! [1]

When our government refuses to require businesses to use the "Basic  Employment Verification Pilot Program" that our tax dollars have funded, it is facilitating illegal immigration. [2] [3]

The politicians who brag about the work ethic of illegal immigrants should hold themselves to the same ethical and work standard. Workmen are known by the quality of their work. Congressman should acknowledge that, as workmen, they have failed to enforce and uphold our immigration laws.

Politicians are now arguing that the sheer magnitude of illegal immigration that they have facilitated, the 12,000,000 or more people who have illegally entered the United States,  justifies making special arrangements for them!

No one hires a roofer who has a reputation for leaky roofs or a house framer who is known for cracked foundations and walls that are out of plumb. Politicians should not be allowed to use their failure as a reason to ignore their constituents who want our existing immigration laws enforced.
