“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin
"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with." --Ronald Reagan
“Give me four
years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be
uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) |
Gore stands to make a lot of money from his promotion of the alleged "global warming" threat, which is disputed by many mainstream scientists. "In other words, he 'buys' his 'carbon offsets' from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself," Hobbs writes.
Follow The Government Money By Theresa Fritz Camoriano We often say that government enterprises fail to work properly, but that usually is not true. Yes, the government schools leave thousands of children illiterate, government floodwalls fail, FEMA leaves people stranded, mining inspectors ignore dangerous conditions that result in the deaths of miners, VA hospitals have rats and mold, the Post Office regularly raises its rates while providing poor service, the military pays $200 for a hammer or a toilet seat, and Medicare and Social Security are going bankrupt, but that does not mean these enterprises are failing to work properly. Raising Kentucky’s minimum wage: Low-skilled workers need not apply By Brian Balfour Many will hail the minimum-wage increase approved by legislators in Frankfort as a victory for low-skilled workers. Sound economic research says otherwise. Although well-intentioned, the current plan to raise the commonwealth’s minimum wage from the current $5.15 an hour to $7.25 by July 2009 equates to a tax on Kentucky businesses willing to hire low-skilled – often younger – workers. It denies these workers the most dependable path to a better life: job experience. (click to read more)
‘Engineered to last’ beyond its time? By Jim Waters Who says nostalgia isn’t a good enough reason to bail out a struggling automaker? Those who understand sound economics – especially the time-tested principle of “creative destruction,” that’s who. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include most of the state lawmakers in Frankfort, who consistently have it backwards when struggling operations like Ford Motor Company come looking for the PIN to the Automated Taxpayer Machine in the Capitol. Harper continues push to improve Kentucky’s business climate – Decries state’s 45th ranking in new national survey – LEXINGTON, Ky. — For months now Republican businessman and gubernatorial candidate Billy Harper has been traveling the state speaking to anyone who will listen about why Kentucky needs to overhaul its approach to economic development and has offered specific ideas on what he believes is the best approach. Planes, trains and Porky at the reins By Jim Waters
Everyone, that is, except the House leadership in Frankfort. (click to read more)
Times were different when I was a lad. There were giants on the Earth in those days. My parents were the biggest giants of all of course. But friend's parents, teachers and scout leaders - all grown ups were giants too. Being born at such a young age, life was magical for a little boy, wondrous. (click to read more)
Which house belongs to the environmentalist? HOUSE # 1: A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's in the South. (click to read more)
Union votes should remain secret ballot By Doug Alexander When is a secret ballot not the most democratic process for allowing people to vote on an important issue? According to a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, it’s when you don't like the results. (click to read more)
Eagles Talons enough to win the day...........and the future COL Harry Riley (submitted by Jeff Smith) Mission Accomplished, Goals and Objectives satisfied..........that's the result of Americans gathering in Washington, D.C. on March 17, 2007 to proclaim pride in America, support and love for our warriors in harms way, and protection of the hallowed ground of our fallen guardians of freedom. MSM Withholds Truth About A Gathering of Eagles, Duh! by Bob Thompson, Panama City, Florida Independent Patriots For America Why would the Main Stream News Media withhold the truth about the Gathering of Eagles successfully defending their memorials, and their gathering being successful in countering the traitorous peace movement, on March 17, 2007? Living Green By Drinking By Jonathan David Morris Okay, I’ve finally got it. I’ve finally figured out a way all Americans can pitch in to save the planet. Drink beer. I can’t believe this simple solution was sitting in front of us—right there in our own refrigerators—all this time. The only thing we have to do to stop global warming and preserve the planet for future generations is participate in the wholly unselfish act of drinking case after case of icy fresh cold ones. It was diabolical for Stumbo to instigate the case against Fletcher, to damage him politically and then join an opposing ticket. There is no more certain way to damage a public official than to charge him criminally. It is the iron law of politics. A politically motivated prosecutor has tools that other politicians don't. – Larry Forgy

"It becomes evident that while discussing climate we are not witnessing a clash of views about the environment, but a clash of views about human freedom." Czech President Vaclav Klaus It took the Catholic Church hundreds of years to develop corrupt practices such as papal indulgences. The global warming religion has barely been around for 20 years, and yet its devotees are allowed to pollute by the simple expedient of paying for papal indulgences called "carbon offsets." – Ann Coulter "A liberal is a man who will give away everything he doesn't own." ---Frank Dane
"An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation."-- John Marshall
Whatever the government does, sensible Americans would prefer that the government does it to somebody else. This is the idea behind foreign policy. — P.J. O'Rourke
