Forget Impeachment: Grab The Tar And Feathers by Pastor Chuck Baldwin Without congressional oversight or knowledge, President
Bush committed the United States to a trilateral union with Mexico and Canada.
He put his stamp of approval upon a mammoth NAFTA superhighway. He has given the
green light for thousands of Mexican trucks to enter the United States. He has
turned his back on American Border Patrol agents who were simply trying to
enforce our country's immigration laws. And he has done all this with
impunity...... Walter Reed A Metaphor For Government Health Care Can you imagine huge government hospitals, whose services all of us would be forced to utilize, with mold growing up the walls and vermin infesting the rooms like some third world medical facility? Liberals will never admit that this will be the result of their vision for our nation's health care system, but that is exactly what our wounded military heroes have been enduring at Walter Reed. Why should we believe that dictatorial Hillary-care would be any different?... Walter Reed is a metaphor for the nightmare that our nation's health care system will become if our federal government is trusted to control and manage it: a microcosm of what 300 million Americans will face if liberal Democrats' utopian ideas are allowed to come to fruition. http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/dpatton/2007/dp_03121.shtml
Economics and smoking – Walter Williams The cost to nonsmokers to impose their will on smokers, say, in a restaurant, bar or airplane, is zero, or close to it. They just have to get the legislature to do their bidding. When the cost of something is zero, there's a tendency for people to take too much of it. …There are instances where I put up with zero-priced smoke-free air, and there are other instances where I don't. It all depends on the cost to me. I think other smokers ought to adopt the same agenda. Say you're asked to do some volunteer work. You might answer, "Yes, if I'm allowed to smoke." This strategy might also be a nice way to get out of doing something without saying no. Just ask whether smoking is permitted. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/WalterEWilliams/2007/03/14/economics_and_smoking
Transfer of Wealth by Larry Pratt In a just society, wealth is transferred in exchange for
money, for service or by gift. Unjust forms of transferring wealth occur by
means of the thug on the street or the bureaucrat who takes one’s property.
Examples of the latter would even include zoning regulations intended to keep
property from being developed by the owner for his profit. Conversely, a
bureaucrat may arbitrarily decide that a developer will use the land more
efficiently (and produce more taxes) than some widow in her old house, and thus,
she’ll find that her property is stolen under the banner of "eminent
domain.".....
America’s Berlin Wall? If Mexico’s leaders cannot grasp the simple difference between their border with America and the Berlin Wall, then their citizens have worse problems than I had thought. http://gcc.savvior.com/America_s%20_Berlin_Wall.php
Traffic congestion – George Will Modernization of surface transportation infrastructure depends on Peters and like-minded visionaries convincing federal and state governments to abandon the inefficient dispensing of money by politically driven formulas and earmarks. New electronic technologies, harnessed to private capital and the profit motive, can nimbly use price incentives to produce new traffic patterns and driving habits, thereby increasing Americans' freedom to pursue happiness, speedily. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/GeorgeWill/2007/03/11/traffic_congestion_in_america

Poisoning the Roots of Freedom
Firing Lawyers US Attorneys, who are political appointees, expect to leave office when the president who appointed them leaves the Oval Office… Bode did not seem at all bothered that Clinton's AG, Janet Reno, had just fired every US Attorney in the country in one fell swoop, noting only that Reno's firing 93 US Attorneys "...has become a highly visible test of how political the Justice Department will be under Bill Clinton and Janet Reno." … It is the prerogative of the Chief Executive to dismiss, at will, all political appointees in his administration. And, once again, the last time I looked, US Attorneys were appointed. http://www.newswithviews.com/Ryter/jon167.htm
Jesus was no leftist – Dennis Prager The idea that a country should offer its other cheek to an aggressor is simply immoral, not to mention suicidal. Such thinking renders Jesus and the Christian Bible foolish. http://townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2007/03/13/jesus_was_no_leftist
Lawmaker battles Trans-Texas Corridor - Citing concern for personal property rights, a Texas lawmaker has filed legislation to delay construction of the controversial Trans-Texas Corridor, a proposed network of privately funded, limited-access toll roads seen by some critics as part of an incremental merger of the U.S., Canada and Mexico. http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54742
