What is Government and why do we have it?

What is Government ?

Government is "other People" who have been deemed the "legitimate use of weapons and force" in a given location by supposedly the majority of its inhabitants.

Why do we want and accept government?

People by nature want to take the easy way out and are also eternal children who want to be protected by their "parents/leaders". Most people live in la-la land and believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, god, the Easter bunny, etc, and by wishful thinking want to believe that some omnipotent institution in the sky/ or Washington? will make everyone" equal" protect us and make all our problems go away!! They want the government to play Robin Hood, and redistribute wealth so we can all live " happily ever after " and go off into the sunset......:)

Does Government 'Work" or achieve its noble goals?

No, It does not. The nature of Government is to force people, and people resist being forced, WHICH THEY SHOULD!! Individuals desire to make their own decisions, run their own lives and spend their own money. Government decreases incentive and thus motivation. People produce when there is something in it for them and their loved ones!!! Good for them! People who desire to be a part of Government like to boss and control others. But the Basic and Urgent #! problem of Civilization remains: The majority of people seem to desire " security" instead of freedom and personal responsibility!? But WHY would anyone be stupid enough to think " other people' who they have never met, and know them only as a SSN, Give a Damn about them!!?? In Reality, The only person who cares about you is Your MOTHER, and you need to take care of Business and Look out for "Number 1" AKA Yourself!!

Because freedom gives us the options we need to make our own choices and be the best that we can Be.

That's Logic and common sense!
