Commentaries by:
“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin
"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with." --Ronald Reagan
“Give me four
years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be
uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) |
Islamic radicals follow a leader who told them to kill any who would not convert to Islam. Christian radicals follow a leader who laid down His own life to save all of humanity. In which civilization do you want your children and grandchildren to live? Doug Patton
Congressional scandals, Detention for Parents, Louisville smoking ban, and School voucher logic By Theresa Fritz Camoriano 1. Congressional scandals – The Harry Reid financial scandal, the Mark Foley sex scandal, and William Jefferson’s money in the freezer ought to remind us that power corrupts. With ample evidence all around us of government incompetence, corruption, and failure, a person would need to have a devout religious faith in government power in order to continue putting trust there. Louisville Judicial Forum By Theresa Fritz Camoriano On Thursday, October 12, there was a forum for the judicial candidates in contested elections to speak. Each candidate was asked questions by a moderator and given a limited amount of time to respond. Supreme court candidates: Both Supreme Court candidates McAnulty and Shake said they would apply the law fairly. McAnulty said a rule change is coming that will address the issue of so many unpublished decisions, and the bar should be happy with it. When asked about whether judges should be elected or appointed, he said he thought Kentucky should consider moving to appointments with retention elections. (click to read more)
Illegal Immigration Harms Innovation By Cliff Johns The current situation of permitting illegal immigration is harming innovation in America, and thus diminishing our unique capacity to deliver innovations better, faster and with more value than any country in the history of the world. Illegal immigrants are here for simple reasons: they are willing to enter our country by unauthorized paths even to the point of exposing themselves to severe personal and sometimes deadly risks by entering through non-official portals (especially those along the southern border states), US employers are willing to violate the law and hire the illegals who do manage to get in only to employ them in low or no-skill labor functions, the illegal immigrants are willing to work for very low wages compared to a legal resident. That these illegal immigrants and their illegal US employers can engage in such enterprise with apparent immunity and control has led to some 10-15 million illegals from sea to shinning sea spread increasingly all over the fruited plain. I was no fan of Clinton whose shenanigans were never limited to this sort of thing, but why is the current administration allowing it to continue now to a point where one in 10 Mexican citizens is in now in the US, ILLEGALLY! Choosing education By David Schlosser, candidate for U.S. Congress America’s system of public education has earned an extraordinary distinction in comparison to the public schools of our international competitors. Only in America do we commit such egregious malpractice against our children that they actually get dumber every year they remain trapped in the public school monopoly. (click to read more)
From the Cloistered Hall, the Drumbeat Continues By Major Mark A. Smith, US Army SF, Retired Bangkok, Thailand Once again the voices of academia hold forth with their studied reasons to be heard and emulated. They know more than all others. They have taken the time to study and have learned the only TRUTH. Some of us lived through the dark days, and were actually in the game. All the while we had to listen to the non-ending stream of advice and condemnation from the ivied and cloistered halls. From Cambridge to Harvard and Yale they held forth with the only TRUTH. “We Clean Our House, They Don’t” GOP Must Take The Offensive on Foley Now By Rod D. Martin, 9 October 2006 Talk to rank-and-file conservatives anywhere in America on any issue on any day, and their number-one complaint is always this: “the Republicans don’t stand up for themselves the way Democrats do”. They’re right. The Mark Foley case proves it. (click to read more)
Veterans Support Ron Lewis for Congress By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter Yesterday, many Veterans, Ron Lewis Supporters, state and federal legislators, and the media gathered at the Hardin County GOP Headquarters for a “Veterans for Ron Lewis Rally”. The event was organized by Dave Jarrett, Navy Vietnam Veteran and DAV Service Officer for that part of Kentucky. (click to read more)
How Legalizing drugs will decrease crime, and keep drugs out of the hands of children By Donna Mancini When I advocate the legalization of drugs, I am not advocating drug usage! Currently, drugs are readily available to children... Why? They Are Illegal! Legalization puts drugs in the drugstores, like tobacco and alcohol, and out of the reach of children. When a product is illegal, its sale goes underground, and, because of the huge profit motive, Pushers get young kids hooked in schoolyards. The drug war has been going on for nearly 30 years and the drug warriors have spent billions of tax-dollars, confiscated property, imprisoned millions and killed many others, and people still take drugs! The forbidden fruit is always the sweetest, and kids almost always do what adults tell them NOT to do. That is Life 101! (click to read more)
"This shooting [in Pennsylvania], and the ones last week in Colorado and Wisconsin, and every school shooting in the past 10 years all had one thing in common: They all happened in so-called 'gun-free school zones,' where students and adult staff are essentially helpless. Gun control extremism has disarmed the wrong people and created risk-free environments for those who would commit murder and mayhem. It is time to re-consider gun-free school zone laws and the zero-tolerance mentality such laws foster. We can no longer afford the empty-headed Utopian illusion that gun control and gun-free zones will keep children safe. Like all other gun control laws, this one has been a monumental failure, and it is literally killing our children. If it saves the life of just one child, abolishing such laws will be worth the effort." ---Alan Gottlieb

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to "govern" the producers and decide what to do with the production. - Anonymous
The
reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his
tongue. "To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." - Thomas Jefferson
Anyone who thinks that turning the reins of power over to Democrats will raise the country's moral bar should take a cold shower. Star Parker
