Screwyville Teacher Burns American Flags in Middle School By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter
According to news reports from Louisville, KY, (AKA Screwyville), and Jefferson County Public Schools Officials, a Stuart Middle School teacher named Dan Holden burned two American Flags inside a classroom in what is being called “a lesson on freedom of speech”. The writer of this article is one American who would like to give his own lesson on freedom of speech to one Dan Holden. But alas, this leech feeding at the public trough, while indoctrinating fertile young minds in the cult of secular humanism, is protected by tax dollars coercively taken from me. How ironic, and unconstitutional I might add!
The lie of “protected speech” thrust upon America by liberal activist judges and the Anti-Christ Liberals Union (AKA aclu), has been discussed at length for many years and will, unfortunately, never be totally destroyed until the mental disease of liberalism itself is cured. Liberals have successfully petitioned the Supreme Court with their communist influenced aclu lawyers to have their despicable activities “protected” by the First Amendment. This doesn’t make them right; it only places them on the winning side of a ridiculous courtroom battle.
These are the same people who whine and complain whenever a conservative comes to their church, (college campuses) to speak, yet they celebrate speeches from racists, homosexuals, and leftists of every stripe. The hypocrisy of the liberal mindset, though well known, never ceases to amaze me. Even when faced with truth which dispels their naďve and idealistic notions, liberals never seem to wake up.
1speech, n. 1. the faculty or power of speaking; oral communication. 2. the act of speaking. 3. something spoken; an utterance, remark, or declaration. 4. oral communication to an audience for a given purpose.
Nowhere in the above definition of “speech” does it say flag burning, protesting at funerals, walking down the street in queer attire with a sign proclaiming one’s sexuality, blocking access to military bases or nuclear power plants, marching for more money from the public trough, or any of the other despicable activities that liberal activist judges have proclaimed is “protected speech”. That should be the end of the discussion, but liberals never stop in their quest to redefine every word, activity, and even history to their liking. The simple fact that the left has to actually redefine words and revise history in order to make their simplistic worldview seem valid speaks volumes.
According to Communist Journal (AKA Louisville Courier Journal) writer Chris Kenning4, “Dan Holden, who teaches seventh-grade social studies, burned small flags in two different classes Friday and asked students to write an opinion paper about it.” Is anyone surprised that this destroyer of young minds is a “social studies” teacher?
This is a good time to discuss Dr. Harold Rugg, one of the John Dewey Socialists who influenced the changes in public education that have brought us the Dan Holdens and other indoctrinated socialists dominating our education, read “indoctrination”, system. In Rugg’s book, “The Great Technology”, written in 1933, he suggested a “new public mind” be created and proposed the destruction of the small businesses and complete government control of every citizen’s life and employment. He defined how schools were to be used to transform American political and economic institutions, and create this new public mind.
Dr. Rugg, and Dr. Harold Counts, both Frontier Thinkers2, a group of hard progressivists formed by John Dewey at Columbia University, were instrumental in producing a 17-volume study of American education produced by the American Historical Association and financed by the Carnegie Corporation, a well known leftist group. In the “Conclusions and Recommendations” section of this 17-volume report, the consolidation of the traditional subjects of history, geography, sociology, economics, political science, etc. into one composite course called “social studies” was proposed. The idea was widely accepted and new textbooks were needed; Rugg wrote them!
Jefferson County Public Schools flag burner Dan Holden has been temporarily reassigned to non-instructional duties pending a “district investigation”. This sounds too much like Congress investigating itself, or the proverbial fox guarding the hen house. Realizing that our public schools are infested with socialists like Holden, does anyone have any confidence that the right thing will be done? The right thing would be the immediate revocation of Holden’s teaching certificate, his firing, and his retirement fund being “attached” to pay for his prosecution. Of course, Holden has an unbelievable protection called tenure. Let’s not even go into the discussion of the foolish notion that teachers are not expected to perform well to keep their jobs. Is anyone surprised, given the corrupt teacher union supported concept of tenure that our government education, an unconstitutional institution by the way, is in a shambles?
District spokeswoman Lauren Roberts said, “Certainly we're concerned about the safety aspect… along with the judgment of using that type of demonstration in a class." Notice that this public educator mentioned the “safety aspect” before mentioning “that type of demonstration”. This is typical of those who slop at the taxpayer funded public trough or “gold mine” that is public education today. Where is the outrage at burning the American Flag, in front of children no less who are looking up to this teacher as a role model?
Pat Summers’ daughter was in Holden's class and said he was among more than 20 parents upset about the incident at school yesterday. "When I was (at the school) at 8 a.m., the lobby was filled with probably 25 or 30 parents". His daughter reportedly stated “Our teacher burned a flag.” Summers said, “I'm like, 'What?' “Praise the Lord that some parents stood up to protest this wrong, but they won’t do enough. They will still send their kids to public schools and then on to the mind destroying college campuses that specialize in producing little socialists for the New World Order.
Beth Wilson, director of
Kentucky's Anti-Christ Liberals Union, said the
district is allowed to
The school's PTA president, Ginny Adwell, said parents who called for Holden to be fired were "going a little bit overboard" and should remember that the teacher was trying to provoke thought. Oh really? What’s next, a homosexual act to provoke thought? How about desecrating a Bible? That would provoke thought. Lee Harvey Oswald’s shooting of President Kennedy also provoked thought, but he died from a bullet wound sent his way by a mobster. No, going a little overboard is Holden hanging in the public square. As a parent, Adwell should concern herself with the learning environment and safety for her daughter and other children, not protecting another in a long line of anti-American public education indoctrinators.
Leave it to the liberal teachers union, you know, that democrat party supporting entity that brought us tenure, to speak up and further protect this fool. The president of the Jefferson County Teachers Association, one Brent McKim, said, [Holden] "has been teaching for many years, and has by all accounts a good teaching record. It was not a political statement and was meant to illustrate a controversial issue. To fire someone because of that would be inappropriate," he said. It wasn't like he was taking one side or another." That is like saying at the trial of the Oklahoma City Federal Building bomber Timothy McVeigh’s trial that he had an exemplary military record and up to this point has been a good citizen so let’s not give him the death penalty. Give me a break, he killed 168 citizens. What faulty logic. How many young minds has Holden been responsible for subverting since he became a teacher in 1979?
If the leftist promoters of “free speech”, used for everything but speech, had the ability to orate, why would they defend the use of flag burning as speech? It seems obvious if those who engage in this negative, offensive, hateful, and disrespectful activity could really speak with any intelligence at all, they would not have to resort to the act of defiling the symbol of our Christian Constitutional Republic, Old Glory, which has been, and still is, carried into battle while protecting our Liberty.
Have we, as a people, allowed ourselves to become so dumbed-down we can be convinced by a bunch of anti-American godless pawns that the disrespectful act of burning a flag, or any other speechless act for that matter, is free speech? If non-speech is speech, is that not akin to stating that disrespect is the same as respect? Is black white? Is red green? I suggest if you tell a pilot that cloudy is clear, you will soon hear him ask for a second opinion.
Prediction: Flag burner Dan Holden will receive a slap on the wrist while being protected by his leftist teachers union and the PTA president, who apparently is their lapdog. He will live out his days comfortably at the public trough that is the finest pension fund in the nation, the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System. The communist-journal will slant their articles on the subject making sure to further promote the faulty logic that flag burning is a freedom of speech issue. The sheeple will forget all about it and be watching football, golf, Nascar, and reality television this weekend with their bud-dumber and miller-low-life. America will continue down the slippery slope towards the collectivism of world socialism thoroughly greased by our mainstream media, our government, and our education (indoctrination) system.

(Editor’s note: Our right to free speech may protect us against being thrown in jail for speaking out, but it does not protect us from all consequences that may result from our speech. For example, people may choose to disagree with us, shun us, or even fire us from our jobs if they don’t like what we say.)
