Club for Growth News:  New Senate Poll

The Latest Headlines...

Chafee Loses if Election Were Held Today

On Thursday, the Club for Growth released a poll showing that Steve Laffey, Rhode Island GOP Senatorial candidate, has drawn into a statistical dead heat with incumbent RINO Senator Lincoln Chafee in their Republican primary race. According to the polling firm, if the election were held today, it is likely the undecided respondents would break toward Laffey and propel him to victory.

Toomey Op-Ed Issues Warning for November

In Thursday's Philadelphia Inquirer, Pat issued a strong warning for Republicans nationwide that the November elections outcome could very well mimic the Pennsylvania Primary outcome if things don't change, and change fast. Excerpt:

"The main reason so many Republican incumbents lost to little-known primary challengers was the accumulated frustration of the rank and file with elected Republicans who had abandoned their party's principles - especially the principle of limited government. This is a huge problem for Republicans holding federal office, too."

Club Issues New TV Ad in Rhode Island

The Club launched a new ad campaign on Thursday designed to educate Rhode Islanders about the real record of Sen. Lincoln Chafee and to increase the pressure on him to support pro-growth policies. Click here to watch and listen to both the TV and radio ads.

Fun Websites on the Internet

Here are some fun websites and blogs on the Internet that we think you'll enjoy:

Congressional Quarterly offers an electoral map that provides information on every 2006 House and Senate race.

On his blog, The Skeptical Optimist, Steve Conover provides a nice summary of who owns U.S. debt.

Here's a website that gives you every State of the Union speech since the founding of our country.

Burning Up the Airwaves

This week, Pat made an appearance on KRMS in Missouri and the "Ax the Tax" program with Doug Guetzloe on WAMT in Orlando, Florida. Check out Guetzloe's website when you get a chance. He's one of the leading voices for lower taxes in the Sunshine State.

For this coming Monday, Pat will appear on Pennsylvania station WNPV's "Comments Please" with Darryl Berger at 12:30pm EDT. If you want to hear it live, go to www.wnpv1440.com and then click on "Listen Live".
