“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin
"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with." --Ronald Reagan
“Give me four
years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be
uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) |
"You and I are told we must choose between a left or a right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream: the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism." ---President Ronald Reagan
May the Force Not Be With You! By Theresa Fritz Camoriano Have you ever noticed that the people who claim to be the most caring and compassionate are the ones who are the most eager to use force? Take, for example, the four Democrat campaign workers in Milwaukee, who cared so fervently about their cause that they slashed the tires on vans that had been rented by Republicans to carry voters to the polls. Two of the convicted slashers were the sons of Democrat officials -- Sowande A. Omokunde, the son of Democratic U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee, and Michael Pratt, the son of former acting Milwaukee Mayor Marvin Pratt. (click to read more)
Public schools evade real accountability By John Stossel I hope the teachers in America’s public schools are more candid than their union officials and some of the public-education advocates and leftist smear groups who are criticizing my TV special “Stupid in America.” They are promoting myths: (click to read more)
Parents know best Kentucky's quest for school choice By Joel Peyton, Jim Waters Executive summary When assessing the performance of our state’s public schools, a popular response by Kentuckians has often been: “Thank God for Mississippi.” However, even Mississippi ranks ahead of Kentucky when it comes to the amount of educational liberty enjoyed by parents. Why is this? (click to read more)
A Big Decision: Choosing and Supporting Independence in Education From the Alliance for the Separation of School and State It's a big step, but you're ready to investigate your options. Maybe you're a parent looking for better choices for your own children, or maybe you're a church leader or educator who would like to empower others to choose independence. Maybe you'd like to spread the message and help others understand why freedom is the best choice for families. (click to read more)
Illegal Immigrants are Stealing Your Identity.* by Justin Darr Here is something to say to yourself as you are watching the May 1st illegal immigration protests, “I could be one of them.” Quite literally, you could be. You are probably well aware of the raid by Federal authorities last month that found over 1000 employees of IFCO Systems were illegal immigrants. However, what you are not aware of is the fact that in the audit leading up to the raid, according to CNN, over 53% of IFCO’s entire work force was using fake or stolen social security numbers. Whose numbers? Who knows! (click to read more)

Rush Goes Down - Unfortunately By Donald M. Heavrin Rush gets his sentence set aside if he stays in rehab for 18 months. He’s a pompous ass, self-absorbed, and better than the rest of us. He has said on various occasions that people who use dope should be in prison. I wonder if he’s changed his tune. Never mind, it doesn’t make any difference to the philosophical outcome of the issue. In a free society you own your own body, and if you want to snort powdered kangaroo tails, that’s your business. If Rush wants to spend $10,000 a month on oxycontin, that’s his business, and there should be no criminal liability connected with his choice of mood-altering drugs. Many species of animals seek intoxication. (click to read more)
"Liberals love to divide us by economic class, and discuss policies in terms of which class will benefit or suffer by their passage. The problem is that class is a moving target. What are the magical income levels that define poor, middle, and rich? Further, Democrats assume that no one has the ability to rise above the economic situation into which they were born. People climb up the income ladder everyday when they work at it." ---Herman Cain

"I don't believe in laws that prevent a man from getting rich. I want every man to get rich. He should be able to earn, save, invest and someday hire others to work for him. That is the American system." – Abraham Lincoln "We couldn't run a public school system if every parent who feels some topic is objectionable to them for moral or religious reasons decides their child should be removed." Paul Ash, Lexington, Mass. Superintendent of schools "Let me reject the premise of your question. I have a real job, I create real wealth, real people work for our company. I would never, ever swap my job for a job where I make my living taking money from other people. I would rather be unemployed, literally." - Cypress Semiconductor founder and CEO T.J. Rodgers, responding to a question about running for governor of California Marx's atheology produced the greatest idol of all, the omnipotent state. – Rod Martin
