What Happened to Representative Government? By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter
Political parties have stolen representative government from the people and replaced it with “party government”. I usually follow that statement with, “The only difference between America and a communist country is that America has two communist parties.” No longer are our so-called representatives doing the business of the people and actually representing them. They are doing the business of the parties instead. It is all about party power over what is actually good for America. With proper homage given to el Rushbo, I would go so far as to say that what is bad for America is good for the Democrat Party. It is so fitting that their mascot is a jack-ass.
That is not to say that the Republican Party is the answer. In recent years, the “Party of the Elephant” has morphed into a more left-leaning organization run by a group of politicians known as neo-conservatives. It is as if the Republican Party is now Democrat-Lite. These “neocons”, as they are called, are driving the Republican Party further left and have been successful in totally destroying the “limited government” tenet of republicanism. Between the neocons, and the RINO’s, Republicans In Name Only, the party is but a skeleton of its former self as we spiral towards national bankruptcy. The entitlement system brought to us by liberals and accelerated through Roosevelt’s “Raw Deal” and Johnson’s “Not So Great Society”, is quickly breaking us.
Whenever this Independent has voted for a Republican, it was always with the philosophy of limited government firmly planted in mind. The unfortunate exceptions are when I voted “against” a truly bad candidate for President in 2000 and again in 2004. Sometimes you just have to draw the line and send the Al “I invented the Internet” Gore’s and the treasonous John “Ho Chi” Kerry’s packing, back from whence they came. It is terrible that we have been reduced to voting for the “lesser of two evils”, but sometimes you have to tend your wounds and reload from a foxhole further to the rear. If I were king, political parties would be outlawed and the only “caucuses” allowed would be representative caucuses with the people, as individuals.
As a conservative, it is difficult to vote Republican these days, actually sickening sometimes. The Republican Party treats conservatives like their mistresses. They pay them with promises while kissing them, but once the election is over and their promises are quickly becoming recent history, they go back to their “wives” in the legislatures, the liberal politicians and political interest groups. It is a real “Catch 22”.
When I voted for Perot in 1992, I actually contributed to electing a serial rapist and cokehead to the Presidency. That hurt the third party movement like never before in history. It wasn’t all bad, as history will reveal. Clinton was held in check in many ways by a Republican controlled Congress that allowed the successes of the Reagan years to take hold, thereby making the redneck from Arkansas look good. However, we still ended up with a 9-11 thanks to Clinton Administration inaction against terror, and that really hurt. However, I still believe that the best thing on the national level is to have a different party in control of Congress than the party that is in control of the White House, difficult as that is to create. In a small way, this limits the destruction that government can produce.
So what do we do? Some say we conservatives should rise up and take back the Republican Party. Others say we should support the Libertarian Party, the Constitution Party, or the Veterans Party, all good attempts at a “better party”. Then, still others say we should always vote “the man” and not the party. Of course, that is always best, but most all mainstream candidates are part of one corrupt party or another, so what does that really accomplish?
I believe all of our “governments”, states and federal, are so corrupt that it will be many decades taking them back. The rules of the game have been perverted to the point that the scales are firmly tilted towards the two party system. Any attempt from the outside to right these wrongs is met with a system that has been manipulated to stop these attempts firmly in their tracks. See The Committee United for an Independent Party for more information. That being the case, I believe the only way to really change anything is to do it on the local level and work our way up. Just like it took hundreds of years to subvert our Constitutions, it will take hundreds of years to gain back true representative government. So, the task is to be patient and elect good virtuous people at the local level while we keep finding more who will jump into the water and swim with the sharks, as the rest of us shoot the sharks from our boats.
Additionally, the war is not won on only one front. There are many battles raging on many fronts and sometimes it seems as though we conservatives are outflanked like the little Dutch Boy with his finger in the dike. We must learn from the “enemy within” and create many different “platoons” to fight the different battles. The battles are unique, but they are all against the same “enemy within”, liberalism. If we make only a frontal assault leaving our flanks open, we will be cut off at the base and wiped out. We must therefore attack in strength at every front, at every flank, and keep the enemy busy with us. This is how the “enemy within” accomplished so much of their agenda while our parents and grandparents were asleep at the wheel. They were complacent; we can’t afford to be.
Conservatives have been awakened and the trumpets are sounding. The game has been tilted in that no longer does the leftist mainstream media (MSM) totally control the information flow in our society. We now have Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Walter Williams, Neil Boortz, Laura Ingraham, talk radio, the internet, and many other alternative sources of information to use in the battles. The stranglehold on information that the propagandists in the MSM have had for so many decades has been reduced to merely a piece of the pie. They are no longer the whole pizza. Don’t get me wrong, they still subvert minds and create urban legends like “McCarthyism”, but they are falling back. Their subscription numbers and advertising dollars are in sharp decline, and in many cases they are now only sought after as examples of what is wrong with American media instead of what is going on in the world. Let the light shine.
Good things are happening also on another front; college campuses. David Horowitz, former communist, is busy exposing the lies and deception on campuses all across America at Front Page Magazine and has brought to light a huge problem with indoctrination and a liberal war against freedom of speech; that is, if it is conservative speech. Many good things are happening, slow I admit, but the tide is turning and that is wonderful to behold. Horowitz is a shining example of a communist who saw through ”the mental disorder of liberalism” pushed by internal communists, and has become a feared conservative the left loves to hate.
I met David Horowitz at the Constitutional Coalition’s Education Policy Conference 16 in St. Louis two years ago, and I can tell you that this ex-communist anti-liberal is working wonders against the lies and deception ever so prevalent on campus. Just this week we had a major victory when the Supreme Court ruled that colleges and universities accepting federal funds must allow military recruiters on campus. Although this seems like common sense, leftists were previously successful in keeping recruiters of campus based weakly on the military’s policies toward homosexuals. The left, that protected class of naïve elitists, has always worked diligently to weaken our military, seeing them not as necessary to protect us, but as an evil tool of a non-existent American imperialism. Go figure!
Our government controlled education system is another front in this war. The left took over education many moons ago and have been busy indoctrinating whole generations in liberalism which includes globalist thinking, collectivism, forced diversity, secular humanism, homosexuality, multi-culturalism, and a host of other liberal diseases used to subvert our nation from a Constitutional Republic based upon biblical principles into a secular humanist democracy where mob rule is the norm. That, my friends, is the difference between a Constitutional Republic and a Democracy. A Constitutional Republican representative form of government is “Rule By Law” while a Democracy is “Mob Rule”, the 51% effect. That our Constitution is based upon God’s laws is particularly offensive to liberals. My favorite bumper sticker, after “Ted Kennedy’s Car Has Killed More People Than My Gun” is “America is a Republic, Not a Democracy”! We must kill the urban legend that America is a democracy!
I learned in college science class that when one force produces an action, an equal and opposite reaction is the result. Energy cannot be created; it can only be changed from one form into another. In Minnesota, as in most other states, socialists in the school systems have been entrenched for a long time and are pushing hard. A fantastic group of Christian conservative warriors have risen up and are pushing back against the tide of leftists in control of the education monster. This Minnesota group is called Edwatch and their successes are examples for the rest of us to use in our own local battles against the education bureaucracy which has created a system that is no longer about educating for knowledge but is instead about indoctrinating for a New World Order. This NWO is to include a no longer sovereign America; there will be no national sovereignty anywhere. We will be part of a multi-cultural new world socialist state headed by a world government with a one world religion of secular humanism. The slavery of socialism that has been gradually subverting our sovereignty is near.
While investigating Edwatch, check out Edwatch member Michael J. Chapman and get his DVD that proves America is a Christian nation whose laws are all biblically based, “America’s Censored Heritage”. Michael is an antique textbook collector who can prove that we are suffering from misinformation in textbooks today. Then do a search on the Edwatch site for information about the federally subsidized social studies book “We The People” which is being used to undermine our Constitution. It will blow your mind when you see what your children are actually being taught.
I have been asking America to WAKE UP for many years now. No longer are we stuck with only one source for our information, so a massive wake-up is now possible as never before. Thankfully, we have many alternatives for information and the only reason anyone would remain ignorant today would be if they chose to be that way. These are the willfully ignorant and they will always be with us. The tide is turning and the news is not all bad. That is because the MSM can no longer hold us hostage with their blatant negativity and “the sky is falling” mentality. They are running scared and their Democrat Party icons are running scared with them. They are losing their hold on power and they don’t like it.
“Power corrupts and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely.” –Lord Acton in a letter to Mandell Creighton, April 5th, 1887
This is the reason for all the negativity and outlandish statements by liberal politicians and their sheeple. They falsely believe that is what they have to do to maintain their power. They realize their lies have been exposed and rather than wake up and smell the coffee, they just re-invent more lies and continue to self-destruct. This is good news for America. Of course, the MSM is willing to repeat and support their lies through slant, deception, and omission, but it isn’t enough. Keep reading alternative sources, America. Keep your mind out of the MSM papers, network news, and Hollyweird movies and documentaries which are nothing more than mind-control. Keep the vigil! We can win back our Constitutional Republican form of government if we don’t get complacent.
