Heraldo-Liberal Gets It Wrong Yet Again

by Jeff "Mario" Smith, Guerilla Reporter

Posted on Saturday, January 21st, in the year of our Lord, 2006

Getting past the irony, or humor if you will, that any mainstream media publication, especially such a liberal one as the LEFTington Heraldo-Liberal [AKA Herald-Misleader], has a section called "Faith and Values", or a "religion writer", that very section of today's edition has an article about Fred Phelps and his Phreaks from Kansas. Frank Lockwood is the writer of this piece.

Lockwood opines that maybe we should just ignore these Phreaks and they will go away. After all they are publicity hounds. While I agree that strategy works with bullies many times, it is also a fact that some bullies don't go away until they receive a good swift punch in the nose. I opine that this Phelps Preach is just such a bully. Add to that the fact that no matter the evil mission, our MSM will give evildoers a platform. We tried in vain to get the MSM to ignore the Phreaks in the WV Miner situation, but to no avail. They do not practice what they preach, it appears. But then isn't the mantra of liberals, "Do as I say, not as I do"?

Opinion is one thing, and there are as many opinions as there are misled people on any given subject. However, Lockwood doesn't even get it right about what happened in Stanton, Kentucky, his own backyard. He says, "We can stage counter protests. That's been done, including in Stanton, but to little effect." I don't remember this fellow being there in Stanton that day, actually it was Bowen, KY, but I was, and I did not see any counter protest. What I saw was a group of very patriotic Veterans and some non-Veterans standing up for a military family in mourning that was being assaulted by a sick group of people from Kansas, the Phreaks.

No, this was no counter protest, this was Americans doing what Lockwood could have also been doing, and that was standing strong for a family that was grieving the loss of their soldier. We were not standing with that family for us, for publicity, for fun, for counter protest, or for hate. No, we stood with that family because it was and is our duty as free Americans who owe our freedom to heroes like SFC John David Morton. SFC Morton was a fine Christian man who went into harms way as a soldier to help keep others, besides just himself, free. This is the boldest statement of unselfishness a man can make.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

John 15:13 (KJV)

Lockwood has a lot to say about what happened on that little country road in Bowen, KY (Stanton) that day, but he either wasn't there, or he was an uninvolved observer. Would Lockwood just stand by and watch if a child was being murdered just to get the story, or would he step in and do something? One has to wonder. If he stepped in and did something, would he be merely a counter protester? I think not, and I know he wouldn't portray himself in such a small way either, having the power of the pen and a monopolistic mainstream media publication with which to promote that pen.

We know Lockwood is wrong to categorize what we did as a counter protest. One interview with the Morton family, having defined what a counter protest is and what security is and what respect is, would cure this misconception that resulted in his insulting misrepresentation. But next, He also gets the results wrong stating that our stand to protect that family and hide these morons from view had "little effect". I guess Lockwood would have had to see the total destruction of these Kansas Phreaks in order to give credit for any results. This is amazing.

Here is what happened. The Phreaks set up in the designated area to protest. Our group, as well as law enforcement, was there to hide and to protect them. Immediately, even before they stopped their van, they hurled insults out their windows. So what, they are Phreaks right? They set up with their hateful signs and upside down flags and proceeded to attack one of our "respect patrol" who, in an effort to protect himself, pulled this Phreak individual, who kicked him, to the ground. Our respect patrol victim is a disabled Vietnam Veteran. It wasn't a total of five minutes and those morons were leaving town in their van, and I am told one of them had a coke can to his head as they drove by the memorial service.

Lockwood says this turn of events had little effect. I beg to differ. Our mission was accomplished. That mission was to make sure that the mourning family and friends of SFC John David Morton did not have to endure these unfathomable insults on their community day of mourning. That is exactly the result of our appearance in Bowen, KY on New Years Eve 2005, in the year of our Lord, and it was no counter-protest. A counter protest would be a show of disrespect in our way of thinking. What we did was to show respect and to keep the Phreaks, the real protesters, away from this family that has sacrificed more than most of us can ever imagine. No parent should have to endure the burial a child. That is a sacrifice that approaches the sacrifice our Father in heaven made when He sent His Son to die on the cross of Calvary that we might have our sins washed in His blood and have everlasting life. SFC John David Morton died so that we might have everlasting Liberty, a Liberty which is God-endowed and Constitutionally protected thanks to our American Military Veterans. In addition, the Phreaks did not show up a the next Kentucky military funeral, that one for SFC Jason L. Bishop in Louisville, KY. This is positive result number two. We were there and Lockwood was not; maybe that is why he doesn't know this.

I cannot count the times I have read an article in the Herald-Misleader [AKA Heraldo-Liberal] about an event that I attended and could not believe how wrong they got it. This has happened so many times that I have grown to expect it. Now, when I read an article about an event I attended or took part in somehow, I start out with the phrase, "I wonder what they got wrong this time". Fortunately, I read someone else's copy of the rag and don't pay for it myself. A guerilla reporter cannot support the mainstream tools of destruction of all that makes America great, and instead is levied the responsibility of monitoring them and ambushing them with the truth. Is this a counter protest?

"So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun.

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him."

Isaiah 59:19 (KJV)
