SGT MORT0N'S SERVICES

Danny "Greasy" Belcher, Executive Director
Task Force Omega of KY Inc.
Vietnam Infantry Sgt. 68-69
"D" Troop 7th Sqdn. 1st Air Cav.

Danny "Big Daddy" Calhoun,

Thank you all so much for showing SFC Morton and his family such respect. Task Force Omega of KY salutes the Patriot Guard Riders and all the other groups and citizens that were there to pay their respects. I am sure the Morton family and friends will never forget the large crowd that showed up to honor our fallen hero. We were honored to be there and show our respect. He paid for our freedom in such a way that we can never repay. This family's sacrifice is immeasurable. Just thinking about the fatherless children and the lonely young mother brings a tear.

This "terrorist group" that are the family and followers of Fred Phelps, and who use the "alleged" Westboro Baptist Church as a cover, showed up and tried to disrupt and dishonor SFC Morton. We had heard the night before that they were coming so we were able to have a few people there to make sure they did not show disrespect to anyone at this funeral for a hero. We were met by many law officers from several branches of Kentucky law enforcement. They were there to show their respects as well, and to keep order. Many of these men grew up with SFC Morton. As we assembled with our American flags, the Phelps bunch brought signs out that read "GOD hates Fags" and "God loves dead Soldiers" among other hateful slogans. For more information on this group, read the article at http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?aid=231 .

God is a God of love and not of hate as this group is. SFC Morton was not a homosexual (www.godhatesfags.com) so I do not know what all these hate signs were for. I walked past two of them that were standing on the bumper of their van. One kicked me in the stomach and tried to jump onto me. I am 5' 3" and have a spinal compression injury from a land mine in Vietnam. In self defense I threw him off me and used only the necessary force to stop those two from hurting me. Some friends came to my aid. The law quickly and professionally separated us. The Phelps group was asked to leave as they were disturbing the peace. They left and rode past the church. I am told they yelled some obscenities to the people there. I cannot even verify that as we had not arrived at the Church of God by this time. I cannot verify that a law officer gave a salute or told them which direction to go. This may have happened as our Kentucky Law enforcement that were present were very polite and helpful.

I will be in at the Stanton Courthouse at 9:15 Tuesday to file charges of assault against this bunch of terrorists. They may have also violated KY Law 525.150, which states you cannot "disrupt meetings, gatherings, or processions...or make any utterance, gesture, or display designed to outrage the sensibilities of the group". They may also be sued for defamation of character for SFC Morton. Additionally, I have been told that the IRS is looking into their hose they claim is a Church and the swimming pool that they are calling a baptistry. After looking into other information available this bunch should be looked at by Child Welfare and Social services because of accusations that Fred Phelps beats the kids with a board and may even be guilty of incest or worse. This bunch sure needs to be investigated for the welfare of the children. They had several small children at this protest carrying signs.

The statement that one of the hate group had a Coke can held to his head to stop swelling may not be true. It could have been a Pepsi.

God blss America and our peace loving service people and citizens. A powerful military insures that we will remain free.
