Is Media Darling McCain the Manchurian Candidate?

By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter

January 5, 2006

”The Manchurian Candidate”  , a 1962 movie about fictional Korean War ex-POW Raymond Shaw, brainwashed by the communists into becoming an assassin, is often cited when politicians who are War Veterans do something unthinkable, like John “Ho Chi” Kerry did to become a presidential candidate in 2004. His multiple treasons, unprosecuted, are public record, and Veterans in general are Not Fonda Kerry.

Would not Veterans cheer for joy at having a real War Veteran, or to push the bar even higher, a former POW as a President? Of course we would. Unfortunately, the alleged heroes placed upon the rostrum by the Insiders are no longer men of virtue whose backgrounds can clear the gauntlet of a real investigation, as opposed to a mainstream media (MSM) production designed to control public opinion.

John McCain, celebrated by the MSM as an alleged “maverick” type of politician, and expected to run for President again in 2008, is the latest “Manchurian Candidate” contender. That Navy Pilot John McCain, son of a Vietnam War Admiral, was a Prisoner of War (POW) in North Vietnam is common knowledge, but what about John McCain makes so many Veteran and POW MIA activists despise him so surely?

In 1991, Senator Bob Smith, a man of virtue not about to let our POW MIAs be abandoned again, pushed for a Senate Select Committee on POW MIA Affairs. Treasonous Senator John Kerry quickly jumped on the bandwagon, some say to elevate his career further and spotlight his so-called Vietnam Veteran status. Kerry, who knew virtually nothing about the issue, and initially against forming the committee at all, became the chair of the committee.

Bob Smith was not going to support Vietnam’s thrust for favored nation trade status until the Vietnamese began real cooperation in accounting for POWs and MIAs. Smith, a student of the POW MIA issue was the obvious choice for co-chair of the committee. Francis Zwenig, long time Kerry aide, contacted the Bush Administration State Department asking for a favor. She explained that Kerry wanted to ensure that Bob Smith did not become co-chairman of the committee. Kerry’s choice was Arizona Senator John McCain, a former Vietnam POW who, unbelievably, often served as an apologist for Republican inaction on the POW MIA issue. Kerry and Zwenig underestimated the respect Bob Smith had with POW families and activists. Thus Bob Dole was forced by public pressure to make Bob Smith the co-chair. Zwenig was rewarded for her back room political fixing with the job of staff director of the committee. Her qualifications were none, outside of her loyalty to traitor Kerry.

The script was now written. The Senate Select Committee on POW MIA Affairs would become what most Washington investigative committees become, a whitewash. This time the whitewash was to help the murderous communists in Vietnam, who refused to cooperate on the POW MIA issue, gain favored nation trade status. That John Kerry’s family eventually received huge power in all real estate negotiations with Vietnam is public knowledge. The focus of this committee was successfully changed from looking into what happened to the POWs abandoned in 1973 to investigating whether any were still alive in 1992 and 1993. This change of focus limited the committee’s power to act on past cover-ups and mistakes.

Most of the 12 appointees to the committee knew little about the POW MIA issue and failed to attend meetings. When Bob Dumas, tireless defender of POW MIA rights and brother of abandoned Korean POW Roger Dumas, spoke to the committee, only one or two of the members were present. This can be viewed in the documentary by Bob Dumas’s nephew Bill Dumas, ”Missing, Presumed Dead” . Of course MSM darlings Kerry and McCain were absent.

Zwenig was evidentially accused of shredding documents (evidence of POW abandonment), and those who had the deepest knowledge of POWs left behind were not even called to testify. The most glaring example of this was communist Czech General Jan Sejna, the highest ranking communist ever to defect to the West in 1968 at the height of the Vietnam War.

The book ”Betrayed” by Joe Douglass, the man tasked with debriefing General Sejna over a period of several years, exposes Sejna’s wealth of knowledge of the fates of our POWs abandoned by Washington, our federal government monster that never, I repeat, never holds communists accountable for their atrocities. The committee whitewashers knew not to call General Sejna, for if they were to hear what he had to say under oath, after having passed all CIA induced lie detector tests, they would have to act.

The word “progressive” is a word slyly used by the MSM when describing causes or people they wish to promote. Anti-communists the world over understand the implications of the word and it makes most of us shriek when we hear it. The general definition of the word progressive is, of course, a positive one, but its use to promote leftist people and communist causes has left the rest of us with a bad taste.

It is no wonder then, that the mainstream media call John McCain a progressive, even a maverick, since he is a thorn in the side of his own party. Republicrats refer to him as a RINO, or Republican In Name Only. POW MIA families and Veterans invested in the POW MIA issue call him a traitor and were very pivotal in his defeat by Insider George W. Bush in the 2000 Republicrat Primary. That is not to say that President Bush has done anything positive regarding the POW MIA issue, no administration has, but we who know the hidden truth about the POW abandonment story could not fathom John McCain as a presidential contender. Likewise indicative is the joining of forces with the Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth thus thrashing John “Ho Chi” Kerry in 2004.

The MSM never ask McCain why, as a decorated Navy pilot and ex-POW, he has worked so hard to push through legislation to block the release of information about American POWs and MIAs still unaccounted for. John McCain is a major player in the hiding of thousands of documents that should have been declassified long ago, but have been legislated away into secrecy.

In 1991, there was the “McCain Bill” creating a bureaucratic maze from which POW MIA documentation will never likely emerge. In 1996 McCain succeeded in amending, and basically destroying, the Missing Service Personnel Act, removing from it any ability for enforcement. Now, government officials caught hiding or destroying documents containing information about a missing soldier, can no longer be prosecuted, this under the guise that this portion of the Act hurt the ability of the Pentagon to recruit personnel for its POW MIA office. Give me a break! I guess it hurts if your desire is to hire document shredders.

A television, or should I say a “propaganda machine”, movie about McCain’s five and a half years as a POW in North Vietnam, based on his 1999 memoir, debuted over Memorial Day 2004 on A&E. It is called “Faith of My Fathers” and is an obvious attempt at fooling the sheeple into accepting this MSM darling as a true hero. I beg to differ. A true hero would not do what John McCain did on the 1992/93 Senate Select Committee Hearings on POWs and MIAs. A hero would stand strong for his brothers abandoned, not abandon them again. A man can do good all his life, and one act can wash it all away.

Putting aside John McCain’s unconstitutional campaign finance reform legislation which does the opposite of what it says it does and actually limits the free speech of citizens while elevating the power of the MSM, imagine that, and putting aside John McCain’s pushing of a POW MIA family member who was in a wheelchair at the committee hearings, and putting aside his fistfight with POW MIA family member and decorated hero Ted Sampley, and putting aside John McCain’s abandoning of his first wife after she became disabled in an accident, how could anyone support a man who did what John McCain did, being lucky enough to be repatriated by the communists only to reabandon his brothers who were not so lucky. I am glad this “progressive” media darling isn’t my brother.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)
