How did your Kentucky Legislator Vote? Commentaries by:
“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin
"[I]f you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state, and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with." --Ronald Reagan
“Give me four
years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be
uprooted.” - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) |
“Economic ignorance is to politicians what idle hands are to the devil. Both provide the workshop for the creation of evil.” Grumpy Christians, Government is not Santa Claus By Theresa Fritz Camoriano 1. Grumpy Christians – Many Christians are in a snit today because some businesses wish them “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”. They are even urging boycotts of the offending businesses. It reminds me of feminists who are offended when a well-intentioned man opens a door for them! This “victim” mentality may be very seductive, but it is not very productive. Christians have been persecuted throughout history, but they have not allowed themselves to take on the mentality of victims. (click to read more)

The Waste Exterminator (from the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions)As director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Mitch Daniels was known as “The Blade.” Now, Daniels brings his version of fiscal frugality to Indiana as the Hoosier State’s 49th governor. In less than a year as governor, Daniels has succeeded in collecting nearly $2 million in revenue just by initiating the sale of surplus state vehicles. He ended the $200,000 annual practice of notifying drivers that their licenses will soon expire; directed the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) to buy instead of rent floor mats at its state office, saving $267,000 this year alone; eliminated bottled water for BMV employees, saving $35,000; and changed the state lottery newsletter from a semimonthly to monthly publication and the print from color to black and white, resulting in savings of 21,670 greenbacks. Kentucky's Ongoing Struggle With Eminent Domain Legislation by Mr. Right Opinion
Another observation concerning H.R. 25, the alleged Fair Tax. By John William Kurowski, Founder American Constitutional Research Service Another objection to H.R. 25, the alleged FairTax, is its attempt to resurrect a socialist type of tax allowable under the Articles of Confederation -- a general across the board tax based upon wealth in which each member state agreed to contribute into the common treasury in proportion to assessed wealth. AMVETS Post 124 and Task Force Omega KY District 3 Team Up By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter In the early eighties, I joined AMVETS to do my part for my Veteran brothers even if it was only paying the dues. I did the same with my American Legion membership. After a few years, money was tight in our young family and I did not have a local post, so I let my membership lapse. This year, a new AMVETS Post 124 opened up in Maysville, KY. Commander Gene Hook, and his sidekick Tony Smith, who just happens to be my brother, have been burning the midnight oil to get this post off the ground. Now I have a local post to be a part of, and a very active post it is. (click to read more)

Score One For
Citizens' Rights FINALLY--a judge who doesn't legislate from the bench. We actually have a judge on the bench who merely upholds the law and doesn't try to rewrite it in the courtroom! This is certainly a rare occurrence in this day and age. (click to read more)

All I Want For Christmas Is To End This Stupid War By Jonathan David Morris When I was a kid, nobody cared if you said “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays.” Both phrases had the same degree of utility. I distinctly remember this. (click to read more)
"It is significant that the ACLU's position is that pornography is protected under the Constitution, while the Christmas tree is not. So, if this bunch were successful, the only way you could see a Christmas tree is if you visit a porn shop that had one." ---Jackie Mason and Raoul Felder

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories." -- Thomas Jefferson “A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." – John Stuart Mill
"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it." ---Thomas Paine "Why, pray tell, are liberals who want everyone to be liberal considered moral and moderate, but Christians who want everyone to be Christian considered 'zealots' and 'bigots'?" ---Dennis Prager
