The American Left Won Vietnam for the Communists; Want to Win Iraq for the Islamo-fascists By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter
At the end of WWII, Ho Chi Minh named General Vo Nguyen Giap commander in chief of the Viet Minh forces. Giap is considered one of the most important men in the history of Vietnam, second only to Ho himself. He ran a fight against his American counterpart, General Westmoreland, which saw victory against America for the first time in our history. However, this victory was not won on the battlefields of Vietnam where the U.S. clearly defeated the enemy. No, Giap won his war right here on the streets and campuses in the United States. That is his real victory, and testimony to his genius.
"We were not strong
enough to drive out a half-million American troops, but that wasn't our aim. Our
intention was to break the will of the American government to continue the war."
U.S forces had steadily decimated the North Vietnamese, though that was difficult to read in the liberal media reports from the war zone. See any parallels to today? The Tet Offensive of 1968 was portrayed in mainstream media reports as a victory for the North Vietnamese. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Sadly, Cronkite and company’s lies and distortions live on in revisionist history books to this day.
From a battlefield perspective, the Tet Offensive was a huge victory for the United States and its allies. Giap’s forces had attempted to take over the larger cities in the South and thereby win the hearts and minds of the South Vietnamese people. Instead, a surprised American military reacted with force and wiped out whole brigades of the North’s finest fighters, falsely portrayed in our beloved media reports as communist guerillas from the South. A retired Major friend of mine, a helicopter pilot in Vietnam during Tet, told me that the stench from rotting communist carcasses was so bad, even at 1500 feet only the most seasoned veterans could endure the smell. It would be two years before the North Vietnamese could mount any considerable offensive, having been decimated so badly. The bulldozer became a common tool of burial. All that was needed was a push north by American forces, but our leadership lacked the guts to do it.
Communists, being atheists, have never placed much value in human life. The death and destruction Giap knew would be thrust upon his military was an acceptable loss. His real objective was political. Giap knew the will of the American people to stay the course was weak, thanks to a leftist media, liberal college faculties, and a gutless Congress. He knew the West merely needed some more bad “news” for its will to break apart completely. He was right, of course, and the American people bought the onslaught of lies and deception from the media, who seem always willing to assist our enemies. This battlefield “victory” for the North was seen as the “last straw”, and by 1975, our allies against communism in the South, and several hundred American Prisoners of War, were abandoned to the murderers from the North. This is the legacy of the left and the blood of these lost souls is on their hands. The “boat people” phenomenon speaks volumes to this truth.
Today’s islamo-fascist enemies of freedom, primarily from the Middle East, are not illiterate. Their leadership knows well that the American left will assist them in America’s failure. Recent history shows this to be true as the American mainstream media continues their legacy of slant and, more importantly, omission of the good news about our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even members of Congress are making the most outlandish statements against our efforts to help spread freedom in the Middle East, Murtha being only the most recent useful idiot of the moment.
Liberals are using the same playbook they used to cause our defeat in Vietnam. The fact that they are using many of the same players, John “Ho Chi” Kerry, “Hanoi” Jane, Ramsey Clark, the VVAW, and more, is very telling indeed. One would think that they could come up with something new so as to not be so obvious, but a football coach uses plays that work over and over until they don’t work anymore, so maybe they know what they are doing.
Do these leftists, liberal media pundits, congress critters, talking heads, and their sheeple really want America to fail; or are they merely trying to regain their power at any price, not understanding the implications of what they do? This is the question of the hour. They obviously do not care about the people of Iraq, just as they didn’t care about the people of Vietnam. When you hear liberals speaking about Iraq and making comparative references to Vietnam, know that this is their desire. It is not that the theater of Iraq is like Vietnam; it is the fact that liberals want America to lose this war the same way they lost Vietnam for us.
As Americans, we do not all agree that we should be in Iraq, but we are there, and we have lost many of America’s best, brightest, and most loyal in the process. Now is not the time to spit on these sacrifices by pulling out of Iraq so the islamo-fascists can run over those people as the North Vietnamese communists did to the South Vietnamese people in 1975. We must learn from history, the truth of history as opposed to the revisionist history so often promoted by our media and state controlled schools. We must decimate our enemy beyond any ability to continue the fight. To do anything less is to tell the world that freedom is just not worth it. It is time for a good old “goal line stand”. Give me the ball.
