FREE TRADE Lies and Deceit

By Richard Lewis

Imagine that you are running a large and successful U.S. corporation, "Corporation A". You learn that your biggest competitor "Corporation B" will soon enjoy a tremendous competitive advantage. All costs for your competitor "Corporation B" employee health plans and all costs for "Corporation B" future capital equipment needs will be paid for by taxpayers.

"Corporation A" must continue to pay for its employees’ health plans out of corporate profits and must continue to convince its board of directors to borrow money to purchase new capital equipment as needed to continue competing with "Corporation B".

What do you think will happen to "Corporation A"?

Health care costs in most of  Europe and Japan are paid for by taxpayers not corporations..... taxpayers in those countries also subsidize key industries by purchasing the capital equipment they need to remain competitive in the so called "FREE TRADE" Global Economy!

Did the Republicans and Democrats who voted for NAFTA, GATT and WTO actually believe U.S. based corporations could compete in a global economy under these arrangements without any "mitigating language" that would protect our way of life? Did Congress simply lie to the American people while both parties work behind the scenes to adopt socialized medicine in the U.S., adopt a European style tax system in the U.S., and create business government partnerships whereby U.S. taxpayers subsidizes key industries operating in these United States?

Did Congress say Global Competition when they really meant giving up our national identity in the interest of global standardization?
