Proudly abhorrent to the ignorant and the evil

By Barry Bright

In June one of my state's premier ‘leftwing extremist’ publications, The Lexington Herald Leader, Lexington, Kentucky, ran a column on the front of its Sunday June 12 Opinion section by ‘former FBI agent Mike German who specialized in ‘domestic counterterrorism.’

German infers that Ku Klux Klan and militia groups are the same. Then he frets that some are ‘clandestine.’

The Klan has for years openly recruited. Many militias have openly recruited and published the times and locations of their meetings.

There are many websites with their ‘literature’ as German noted. Anyone with internet access can educate themselves on what these groups are about.

And German claims: “…they wouldn’t just welcome you.”

Most of the Kentucky State Militia training sessions this Marine Veteran of the First Gulf War and Western Kentucky University Journalism graduate attended in the late 1990s were open to the public. We allowed anyone of any color to participate. A few left our presence after they saw we were more ‘diverse’ than they preferred.

“McVeigh seemed able to find a militia meeting wherever he went. ….and at gun shows he sold copies of The Turner Diaries, a racist novel…” German wrote.

Most accounts report that McVeigh only attended one militia meeting, and he left or was asked to leave because they weren’t hard core enough for him. In other words, they weren’t planning to do immediate violence.

My primary goal in helping to train militiamen was to build up a public organization, that the authoritarians who want the citizenry disarmed so they can’t fight back would have to think twice about before they commanded “Turn them all in,” as the statists in Great Britain and Australia have done.

Yes, I own a copy of The Turner Diaries, which I’ve never finished reading. I bought the Sunday edition of the Lexington Marxist Leader in which German’s propaganda piece was published, and I looked it up on the internet, and read a ‘discussion’(http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp- dyn/content/discussion/2005/06/03/DI2005060301359_pf.html) he had with readers of The Washington Post.

So am I a racist or a Marxist?

On the web German praises the ADL and the Southern Poverty Law Center: “I think both of these groups do amazing work. They are a tremendous resource to law enforcement counter-terrorism efforts.”

It sounds more like he’s campaigning for a staff position as an ‘expert.’

Another German response: “Domestic Terrorists are also often underestimated. Their beliefs are so unusual and abhorrent that people mistakenly believe they are stupid, which they are not. - Again, there's a lack of good intelligence about what these groups are all about.”

My ‘beliefs,’ that we are born with natural rights and have a right to say “No” to tyranny and back it up with violence if necessary are only ‘abhorrent’ to the ignorant and the evil.

German shows his disdain for ‘intelligence’ in the discussion: “As a criminal investigator I didn't concern myself with what a particular group thought or said, but rather I concerned myself with the criminal activity they were involved in, and focused my efforts on gathering evidence of criminal acts.”

When many Americans refuse to turn in their guns they will become ‘criminals’ in German’s eyes because he puts his paycheck or his leftist agenda above right and wrong.

The purpose of the modern militia, is to back up that “No!” and to make sure unarmed minorities of any kind are not herded onto trains and into camps.

German wants the government to sue these fearsome extremists as the Hatewatchers have.

Will they also sue the environmental groups who inspire eco-terrorists? Will the mainstream newspapers be included in these civil suits because they publish propaganda on SUV-caused ‘global warming?’

And what is a ‘terrorist’ or a ‘criminal?’ If the Founding Fathers, who dumped tea into Boston Harbor, and killed British soldiers on Boston Common, were brought forward in a time machine they would be looked upon by ‘homeland security’ as such.

When we ignore our roots we are hypocrites. When some propagandize against those who simply wish to be free they reveal their true agendas.

American Marxists who call themselves “Liberals” are especially hypocritical, as they put down those who fight for Liberty, when one of their own heroes said:

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." -  John F. Kennedy

The Lexington Marxist Leader got German's column from the Washington Post which ran it on the front of its Sunday June 12 ‘B’ section and online.

Barry Bright served proudly for three years with the Kentucky State Militia, where he shared basic infantry skills he was taught by the United States Marine Corps, and has  used his journalistic skills for over a decade to promote the cause of Human Liberty, all without pay and under the watchful eye of Bill Clinton’s ‘homeland security.’
