Subject: Relief and Reward

Dear Subscriber,

I think it's an understatement to suggest that Joseph Banister and his
family are having one big sigh of relief today, after his acquittal.
Personally, I hope he gets a little reward for his efforts, in addition to
the relief of having won his criminal case.

I'm sure at this point he has a pile of bills a mile high (legal and
otherwise), and now that he's won, that's something that might slip a lot
of peoples' minds.  When all is said and done, the last thing I'd want to
see is Joe having a net financial loss for having done what he has done.
In fact, I'd love to see him get a pile of contributions that goes way
beyond his expenses.  To that end, I suggest we bury the poor guy in
"thank you" letters and donations.  : )

I would make sure to make it clear that it's a personal gift to him,
rather than something he has to specifically allocate to any legal defense
fund, or anything like that.  As far as I know, this address should still
work:

How much was it worth to you to have HIM go through this ordeal, instead
of you (excepting the few of you who are going through similar things)?
I'm sure a few words, and a few dollars, from a few thousand people, would
brighten his day (though the acquittal probably has made today pretty darn
bright for him already).  Incidentally, I think his family also deserves a
big "thank you" for letting the cause of freedom "borrow" Joe for a while.
They don't get mentioned, but believe me, they pay the cost (in stress).
And they deserve praise and support as well.

Sincerely,

Larken Rose

(P.S. Speaking of donations, I haven't been able to open anywhere near a
quarter of the donations we received for our trial expenses, and I can't
thank you all enough.  Based on the rate of donations, I think what we got
from that one e-mail should cover ALL trial-related expenses, which is
pretty darn amazing, and much appreciated by us.  Thank you all.)
