Governor Fletcher Appoints John Roach to the Kentucky Supreme Court

Louisville - Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced the appointment of John Roach, general counsel to the Governor, to fill the vacancy in the Kentucky Supreme Court. "John has the intellect, integrity and enthusiasm that I was looking for in a Supreme Court Justice," said Governor Fletcher, who announced the appointment at the Kentucky Bar Association's annual convention. "The people of Kentucky will be well-served by his commitment to the legal system and his passion for the law.

"The Deep Throat Scam" by Frank Friday

Lost among all the MSM hoopla over last week's announcement that Mark Felt had leaked Watergate information to Woodward and Bernstein was this astounding story- There Never Was a "Deep Throat". Back in 1972-74 during the Watergate circus, of course, no one used the term "Deep Throat". All anyone knew was that the two Washington Post reporters were all over the story of dirty tricks by the Nixon campaign and its controversial use of campaign cash. Much of the information was obviously coming from official sources, and Nixon's tapes show just two months after the break-in Nixon and Haldeman learned one of the prime leakers was FBI #2 man Mark Felt.

"Media Pawns of Stumbo Witch Hunt" by Jeff Farmer

Our media have become willing outlets for the flurry of allegations in Attorney General Stumbo’s witch hunt into the process of hiring merit employees. AG Stumbo will cost our commonwealth hundreds of thousands of dollars and I’d guess that he’ll not find any illegal hiring practice of a merit employee. He will however, with our hard earned tax dollars, make a prominent name for himself as a future candidate for Governor.
