LOUISVILLE AIR POLLUTION MEETING

Primarily Environmental People and Media People attended the meeting.

Most of those above held the Viewpoint that Jefferson County does not need any Industries. As some pointed out to me, "Things would be better without them, and down the road some time everything would be fine".

The above thinking leads to the conclusion that Environmentalists in general are Functionally Insane! Further, their leaders, who know better, such as Art Williams, are professional liars!

In summary, they are a THREAT TO CIVILIZATION!

There are two areas of concern in these hearings as I see them.

First, there is the concern about General County Wide air pollution, which could come from Local Industries.

In this case, what is needed is research on what, if any, pollution elements are released into the air that effect that general air quality. This research should be done Industry by Industry, by qualified Scientific Personal.

By qualified, I mean by Experienced Chemical Engineers and or Experienced Chemical Scientists.

The "Catalog" of items released by this committee was apparently copied out of some Chemical Handbook. Most of these items do not apply to our local industries.

We need studies, Industry by Industry, of specific pollution items released by each industry in question. Further, we need to know, Industry by Industry, what items add to General Air Pollution and how much.

Second, there may be pollutants released by local industries that pose hazards to life in the local area of the specific industry. These are elements that are "heavier than air", and do not get into the general air stream.

These pollutants could affect the life close to the Industry in Question. Again, qualified scientific people are needed for these studies.

From my 43 years in Industry, it was apparent to me that most people working for the EPA were Lawyers, not Scientists. Lawyers wrote most of their regulations with little regard for science.

The State Natural Resources Cabinet had 71 Lawyers at last count.

Lawyers, such as Art Williams, run this Local Committee.

It is well to observe those Industries, and the jobs that they create, are leaving the area, and the Country, at a high rate. This exodus will destroy America as we know it.

The reasons for the above exodus, as I see them, are:

Unrealistic Government Regulations!

Misguided Corporate Management!

Misguided Union Management!

Through their Corporations and related Foundations, Corporate Leaders are the chief financial backers of the Environmental Movement. Therefore, next to Government, the Corporations are the top financiers of their own demise in this Country!

Our City and our Nation needs Industries. Industries create wealth. We need to create wealth for our people, not unrealistic GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS, or profits for self-serving INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONS!
