We invite you to attend a special
upcoming lecture on:
Liberty and the Power of Ideas
What causes society to occasionally
change from one economic system to another? A charismatic president? The
power of Congress? The influence of labor unions? The independence of
the Supreme Court?
People or the institutions they establish
play important roles, but neither is fundamental enough because they do
not explain why people behave the way they do. The greatest motivator
for change is what French author Victor Hugo once called "more powerful
than all the armies of the world" - IDEAS!
Our
lecturer will be Lawrence W. Reed, president and founder of the
Mackinac Center for Public Policy in Midland, MI, one of the most
effective free-market think tanks in America. Through his leadership
during the past 17 years, the Mackinac Center has promoted such
important ideas as universal school choice, privatizing public services,
results-based government and market-based solutions to the problems that
face us.
