Help Needed To Reform Immigration Laws

by thegunnerscorner at 07:52AM (EDT) on May 3, 2005 | Permanent Link | Cosmos
As we all know, or at least should know, illegal immigration has been a problem, a scourge all along America’s border communities both to the South with Mexico, as well as to the North with Canada, where both borders are just hemorrhaging with illegals.

Well, yesterday, I received this Action Alert from Grassfire (http://www.grassfire.org). It shows that, without a doubt, this crisis in the influx of illegal immigrants is now causing MAJOR problems in communities far from being along the border.

I urge you to read the alert, and then take the action requested toward the bottom by following the link provided. PLEASE understand, I am not opposed to immigration, so long as it is done legally. We have got to stand up and hold to account those who not only are charged with creating our laws, but also those charged with enforcing them. A law is only as good as the commitment to enforce it.

Thanks for taking the time to read the following, and for having the patriotic desire to act upon it.

GRASSFIRE ALERT:

During our last update, we forecasted that the current illegal
immigration crisis would be coming to a neighborhood near you.

Well, for Grassfire team members in Connecticut it is happening.

As reported on FoxNews (4/28), the middle-class New England
suburb of Danbury can no longer cope with the influx of illegal
aliens that make up 19 percent of the town's overall population!

The crisis is so critical mayor Mark Boughton is looking into the
possibility of deputizing state police officers as federal
immigration officers. "In terms of our social services, [the illegal
immigration population] presents a tremendous strain, particularly
on quality of life our neighborhoods, our schools our health care
system," he said.

Michael, Danbury Connecticut is far from any border, yet
its townspeople are watching their property values plummet, and
their neighborhoods being destroyed.

And with more than 15,000 illegals living Danbury, it doesn't
even begin to address the extremely serious security risks!

++ Grassfire in Washington!
Just last week, Grassfire was in Washington to discuss the
spreading illegal immigration crisis. While there, we talked about
the need for a comprehensive plan of action--not just a quick fix.

What is happening in Arizona, New Mexico, California, is well
documented. But now, illegal immigration is affecting non-border
states like North Carolina and Connecticut--underscoring the need
for solutions--real comprehensive solutions...

and we believe Washington is ready to listen!

Again, we are on Red Alert throughout the month of May--ready
to take immediate action to motivate our leaders to take the illegal
immigration crisis seriously!

To this end, we would like to rally an additional 40,000 signatures
over these next four weeks--pushing us to 200,000 petitions!

Please forward this message to at least 20-30
of your family and friends. Urge them to get
serious about border security with you by

Thanks so much for taking action with Grassfire!

Grassfire.org Alliance

P.S: Remember, our petition isn't about stopping all immigration.
We support immigration. We are simply against the uncontrolled
flow of undocumented illegals, and through this petition, we are
serving notice and holding leadership responsible for addressing
the very serious security risk illegals pose to all citizens.
