Notable Nine End Condemnation of Water Company

By Jeff “Mario” Smith, Guerilla Reporter, LEFTignton, KY

The word “notable” as defined in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary, means: 1. Remarkable; worthy of notice; memorable; observable; distinguished or noted; 2. Active; industrious; careful. While these are all excellent adjectives to apply to an individual, Lexington has nine elected council members who, in concert, voted to end the communistic condemnation of our water company. We shall call them the “Notable Nine”.

Why are they remarkable, worthy of notice, distinguished, and careful? In the face of libelous articles and editorials from our local liberal news rag, they held fast and refused to bend to the powerful influence of the few leftists that push the liberal agenda through an abusive monopolistic newspaper.

Mike Scanlon has been attacked to the point that he will most probably not be able to run for Mayor, ever. He had to endure the most ridiculous attacks from FLOW and LUV people with second grade “food fight” mentalities and not respond. Well done, sir. I have never seen so many childish rants directed at the council.

Jacques Wigginton, a minister of faith, had his Christianity called into question as well as his expense reports with the government. While Jacques was a bit unreliable at times, he did hold strong in the end and do the right thing.

Bill Farmer was heavily attacked for merely suggesting that the LFUCG Council do its job and question whether or not it is wise to pay for a problematic loan from a few wealthy citizens who are trying to control the direction of the city. He is right. The loan “backers” should step up to the plate and actually “back” the loan, not force the taxpayers to pay for their failed attempt at controlling the purse strings.

George Meyers accepted a job with the Commonwealth of KY, and they tried to remove him from the Council in order to install a pro-condemnation individual, as the Mayor did in the case of Wanita Ellison. Mr. Meyers stood strong and did not bend to the pressure from these elitists.

Jay McChord had his campaign signs stolen by Chetan Talwakar, the only paid member of FLOW, a radical group of socialists trying to force our government to condemn a private company that has nothing wrong with it, merely to steal its profits for their social programs. This backfired on them as Talwakar was caught in the act, ran from the scene, and then tried unsuccessfully to invade Jay McChord’s press conference and lie his way out of it. His defense? He was doing the upstanding thing by removing Mr. McChord’s allegedly “illegally placed” campaign signs so Mr. McChord would not suffer from prosecution by the election commission. What a guy, eh? If you believe that one, I have some oceanfront property in Maysville I would like to sell you.

Ed Lane, a prominent and successful businessman, is being used as an example of the alleged takeover of our council by “business people”. Gee, imagine that, actual successful business people overseeing a 257 Million-Dollar budget, hmm! How terrible. The thing about liberals is they actually believe sociologists and professors, having never left academia, can handle the finances of a city better than business people. Go figure.

Remarkable; worthy of notice; memorable; observable; distinguished; active; industrious; and careful. These words all apply to these Notable Nine who stood up and took the beating the liberal community dishes out when they don’t get their way. As these liberals, through LUV, try to force this issue to a vote, remember, these are the same people who said in the beginning that we should let our elected representatives decide this issue. Now that our elected officials say END CONDEMNATION they want to vote on it. Can you say hypocrisy?

The Notable Nine are Mike Scanlon, George Brown, Jacques Wigginton, Bill Farmer, Kevin Stinnett, Bill Cegelka, George Myers, Jay McChord, and Ed Lane.
