Mayoral Arrogance, Communistic Condemnations, and the Nightmare of Teresa Isaac

"The Saga Continues in LEFTington, Kentucky"

by Mario, Guerilla Reporter

March 25, 2005

After a long delay initiated by Councilman Jacques Wigginton, some say for personal grandstanding, last night the LFUCG Council FINALLY voted to override a Mayoral veto by Mayor Teresa (TI) Isaac, the TI stands for Tax Increase. In a typical display of arrogance, the "tax and spend" Mayor stated that the settlement with the water company she is trying to steal was similar to the one presented in January. She smugly noted that it contained none of the four items she had asked the company for. Mayor, could it be you are asking for too much?

What are those items? You are going to love this. Now keep in mind there is nothing wrong with the service provided by the water company to its customers, and it is not for sale. The city, under direction from Mayor Teresa "Tax Increase" Isaac, has spent over $1,300,000.00, that's 1.3 Million folks, to condemn this well run company owned by a valuable corporate citizen that has provided the city its largest and best city park and golf course, basically forever.

According to the Heraldo-Liberal, two of the Mayor's demands are...

1) immediate possession of Jacobsen Park and Lakeside Golf Course; and

2) the water company to pay the city's legal fees associated with the communistic condemnation procedure initiated by the city, not the company.

On the first issue, someone needs to clear up something for me. If the city gains possession of Jacobsen Park, doesn't the tax revenue from the water company who owns the park go away, or do they have some sort of deal whereby they don't pay property tax on the park since the city uses it? If I were in charge of Kentucky American Water, I would rescind the lease on the park and start charging admission into the park and competitive fees to play on the golf course as a way to recover the costs associated with defending themselves against the city's communistic attack!

Regarding the water company paying the legal fees for the city, you have got to be kidding me. Someone pinch me; this must be a nightmare! Surely, our tax and spend Mayor is not that stupid. Surely, she does not expect the water company, a company that she initiated this legal action against, to pay the "lawyer enriching" fees associated with condemnation. Is this the most arrogant thing one has ever heard or am I missing something here? Wow!

I have a better idea, of course. How about the leftist organization behind all this communistic action footing the bill for the city's legal fees? This organization of socialists, liberals, and their indoctrinated minions is top-heavy with everything from millionaires to wealthy elected officials. Yes, they even show "free" propaganda films to their sheep. This is a group called FLOW that has very deep pockets, and this is the group making all this ridiculous anti-business, pro-socialist activity occur. Let them foot the bill for the city. After all, not only can they afford it, they are the individuals who bought the Mayor her election win and are pulling all the strings in the background.

Nick Rowe, President of Kentucky American Water, said he is pleased with the new "spirit of cooperation" exhibited in the settlement arrangement currently on the table. This is a man who heads a company full of employees who have had this cloud of negativity and uncertainty regarding the communistic condemnation hanging over their head since the tax increasing mayor took office almost three years ago. How professional and dignified of this man to remain so positive in light of what the Mayor and her minions are trying to do to his company! Here is a guy that would make a great Mayor. Our Mayor could not even take care of herself financially before she became our top elected official. She was illegally using a car paid for surreptitiously by an old campaign fund, that legally, was supposed to be shut down. Why? They say it is because it would have been repossessed had it been in her name. Interesting!

Regarding gaining a great Mayor, it is time LEFTington woke up, folks. The election of Mayor Teresa "Tax Increase" Isaac to the city's executive office has been the most divisive thing to happen to this city since some of her hippie supporters burned down the KY Army National Guard Armory building on the UK campus during the Viet Nam War. As I recall, the first thing she did was to push for health insurance benefits for the homosexual partners of city employees. She has proposed several tax increases, the latest being the "Lextran tax for empty buses" which cost all Fayette County property owners hundreds of dollars per year. Our police department is under-funded and we are losing trained officers to other departments in the state in epidemic proportions, AFTER we pay for their training. She and her socialist supporters were successful in pushing for and gaining a ban on smoking inside privately owned businesses, that's bars, restaurants, bingo halls, and yes, cigar bars folks! Her claim to fame? Spending over 1.3 Million Dollars to condemn the privately owned company of an excellent local corporate citizen, probably our best local corporate citizen, the Kentucky American Water Company.

Let us learn from our experience and, in the future, refrain from electing any liberals to the executive office of the LFUCG Government. It is time we elected someone Mayor who is not heavily tilted to the socialist side of the spectrum and who has more respect for the citizens of Fayette County. It is time we took more pride in our county and stopped allowing it to be subverted into the San Francisco of the Midwest.

Those council members choosing to support the Mayor's arrogant efforts are: Dick DeCamp, Chuck Ellinger II, Linda Gorton, and Sandy Shafer. Richard Moloney and David Stevens were missing from this important meeting.
