Larry Brown on National Drivers License
While was attending the Am. Legislative Exchange Council in December in DC, there were two speakers from private ID contractors who produce these drivers licenses and security ID cards. They too do thought a federal mandated ID was not the correct way to go. The states can and some already are producing encoded IDs that are extremely hard to forge. Plus they should not give them out to illegals or just anyone who walks in as is the case in many states. These contractors had several with implanted technology that was unique, very very difficult to reproduce and inexpensive to read. Instead of having fifty different layers of security and sources where that information is kept, HR 418 make it the federal government with all info on all citizens. Instead of worrying about fifty state governments misusing it, getting hacked into or sabotaged, we have to worry about Washington. Remember Hilary and Bill had over 1000 FBI files in the White House on political opponents... You may not know this, but your Credit Card has more information on you than your drivers license. Creditors check and stay current on your background...the states do not because they have no financial incentive to do so...neither does the federal government except for political purposes. They spoke specifically that HR 418 would create a National ID system. The GOP is way off on this for individual freedoms are at risk. No state may place restriction on interstate commerce, but the FEDERAL government just did....don't know what you call that, but I call that unconstitutional. As far as getting my guns, enough said. But we the people will regret HR 418 because sooner than later, a politician will decide who and how this info will be used for political, not security proposes. History is full of them.
