Money spent annually on education in Kentucky:

653,248 K-12 students get $5647 (KY$) + 2303 (Fed$) for a total of $7950 each.

157,673 in-state 13-16 students get $19,566 (KY$) each.

There are ~23K out of state students in post secondary schools.

We spend in KY $3,687,639,700.00 in K-12 schools (28% of total KY budget).

We spend in KY $3,393,954,500.00 in 13-16 schools (25.8% of total KY budget).

Therefore education is 53.8% of our total budget in KY. This is an exponential increase over the past couple of decades, yet we are still in the same place in nationwide ratings.

Over 7 BILLION Dollars spend in KY on education - what are we getting for our money?

I don't think we are getting what we deserve or what we need. Cut the waste I say. Maybe one day we can feel better about education dollars if they ever get back to teaching knowledge rather than socializing and indoctrinating. Wouldn't that be nice!
