Let 'em all be Independent! By John Riley
Republicans upset with Republicans! Democrats upset with Democrats! How about all of them being Independent and maybe the citizens and taxpayers could hear more honest debate on ideas and solutions instead of bickering and political party posturing.
The recent events regarding the Senate seating Dana Seum Stevenson obviously has many Republicans upset with the Republican Party, and the election of Jerry Lundergan as the Democrat Party's "ethically challenged chairman" in Kentucky has many Democrats obviously upset with the Democrat Party.
All of this bickering and posturing is like children arguing over who gets to stick their hand in the "cookie jar", or the taxpayers’ pockets, first. It's looking more and more to most average citizens that there are only two lawless gangs to choose from. It may as well be the "Crips" and the "Bloods"! And is there any wonder why so many people simply don't vote?
Let 'em all be "independent" and lets hear them talk about ideas and real solutions instead of political party posturing for a welcome change! Be honest, there is no "party loyalty" among the voters anymore in Kentucky; otherwise the Democrats would still be in complete control. Political party serves only "special interests" (who play both ends against the middle) and as a means for the top gang members of either party to cultivate more gang leaders. The citizens and taxpayers always seem to lose regardless of which party they claim! "Party loyalty" is only for those who are too lazy to look beyond the rhetoric of either party. Or for those looking for a government job and/or to "move up" in the party ranks.
As a "conservative", I'll be loyal to those who put the citizens and the Constitution before party and special interests! As a Republican, I'm being brutally honest!
