“[State controlled] education is a weapon, whose effect depends on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” – Joseph Stalin

"It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

-- Thomas Sowell

How About Fairness Toward Employers and Landlords?         By Theresa Fritz Camoriano          The Louisville Council is debating whether to reinstate its “fairness” ordinance, which prohibits employers and landlords from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation.  The proponents of this ordinance claim that it expresses the community’s tolerance and fairness toward all its citizens, but, in fact, it really expresses bigotry and intolerance against employers and landlords.                (click to read more)

STREET PUNKS & THEIR DRUNKEN FANS - by Mario, Guerilla Reporter         This week, some of the infamous NBA street punks in Detroit, who masquerade as athletes nowadays, got into a rather large brawl with what appears to be some unruly and drunken fans. We live in an "entertainment-drunk" society full of sheep, who would rather be entertained than pay attention as their Liberties get stripped away by evil doers moving us towards the socialist slave state of a one-world government. Therefore, the brawl is all anyone seems to be talking about and unless you live in a cave, with no cable or satellite, you cannot get away from the many discussions.              (click to read more)

Thirty Deaths Too Many         By Theresa Fritz Camoriano           So far this year in Louisville, there have been 61 murders.  According to the authorities, at least half of those murders are related to illegal drugs.  The war on drugs has claimed additional lives as well, such as those people killed by the police in sting operations that have gone bad and in other drug-related transactions.  In short, the death toll related to illegal drugs is very high.              (click to read more)

Federal Court Declares California's Online Real Estate Licensing Law Unconstitutional        Licensing Internet Publishers Violates First Amendment Rights            Washington, D.C.-In a ruling that will unshackle Internet publishers and save consumers millions of dollars, a federal judge in Sacramento struck down California's demand that websites obtain a real estate broker's license to publish real estate advertising and information.  The court concluded that the law, which requires websites to obtain a license but specifically exempts newspapers that publish the same information, was "wholly arbitrary"              (click to read more)

In God We Trust...          by Lady Liberty

...but apparently in almost nobody else. In fact, pervasive distrust has become just about universal. Consider:

Families worried in an age of excited TV and Internet reports on child molestation and other sex crimes are more and more inclined to look into the past history of that new neighbor or the guy down the block who waves to their kids whenever he passes the playground. Despite cries of invasion of privacy from various civil liberties groups, myriad online resources exist for the concerned parent not least of which is the centralized Sex Offender Registry Information Center.              (click to read more)

Basketball: A Blame Game       by Jonathan David Morris          Last Friday night, an NBA game between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons turned into a full-scale riot, the likes of which are usually reserved for revolutions and Laker championships. It began in the final minute of the fourth quarter, when Pacer Ron Artest committed a hard foul on Piston Ben Wallace, which led Wallace to push Artest. Both teams cleared the benches and a fan hit Artest with a beverage. Artest rushed—fists first—into the stands. Next thing you knew, the game was called early. Chaos erupted. Someone threw a chair.               (click to read more)

UNsuccessful, UNethical, UNneeded.           By Justin Darr          The United Nations has failed again.  Somehow, the UN has found time away from obstructing the investigation into their collusion with Saddam Hussein to rob billions of dollars from the “Iraqi Oil for Bribes”, I mean “Food” program, to doom thousands of Africans to certain genocide in the Darfur region of  Sudan.  In its infinite wisdom, the UN has decided to offer the radical Islamist government of Sudan a package of trade deals and financial incentives rather than any threat of international sanctions to curtail their wonton slaughter of their non-Moslem citizens.  If the Sudanese comply, they will be able to build a nice, shiny, new airport and Western style shopping mall, and if they refuse… Well, nothing happens, and things can go on as they are.  Situation normal for the United Nations.              (click to read more)

“The Democrat monopoly over the House of Representatives was broken in 1994.  The liberal monopoly over the media has now been broken, fueled by talk radio and the Internet.  Seems to me there are two more behemoth government/liberal monopolies yet to be broken by conservatives: The public schools and the postal service.  Let’s get on with it.”

– Chuck Muth

“The just concluded ‘lame duck’ session of Congress should have been labeled the "goose that laid the golden egg session" for the federal goodies it dispensed.  Sen. Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, told me he is pleased that Congress has reduced the ‘rate of the increase in spending.’ Is this why we have a Republican congressional majority so that they can increase spending less than Democrats?”- Columnist Cal Thomas

Free State Project

“Every day in this country untold numbers of people decide that it's better to just sit back and let the government take care of things than it is to actually take responsibility for your own life.  Once a person crosses that line they become a loyal Democratic voter.”

- Talk show host Neal Boortz

"Politics and morality are inseparable.  And as morality's foundation is religion, religion and politics are necessarily related.  We need religion as a guide.  We need it because we are imperfect, and our government needs the church, because only those humble enough to admit they're sinners can bring to democracy the tolerance it requires in order to survive." --Ronald Reagan
