NEWS from KY GRASSROOTS GOP

- Truth Test: Nick Clooney Continues the Cover Up in Latest
Ad

Erlanger, KY – Yesterday, Nick Clooney launched a new television ad denying that he ever called for raising payroll taxes.
The ad calls on Geoff Davis to “tell the truth.” At a Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce candidates’ forum on September 22, 2004, Clooney said, “Will Rogers said that taxes have made more liars out of Americans than golf.” That’s certainly true in Clooney’s case. Here’s the Clooney record on payroll taxes.

- State Senator Tom Buford "Liberal Media Hounds Bunning to
Debate Mongiardo, but Gives Chandler Free Pass"

On Saturday October 2, a young WKYT reporter showed up for what was to be the first Congressional debate between Tom Buford and Ben Chandler. The hot issues were discussed, pointed questions were answered, but only by Senator Buford.
Ben Chandler's microphone was silent, the seat behind his printed name was empty. If the roles were reversed, the big story would surely have been "Republican won't discuss issues at public forum."

- Chuck Bradley to Upset Charlie Hoffman 62nd House District

However, their parents will choose "Chuck" over Charlie Hoffman.

NEWS from FRANKFORT

- Secretary of State Trey Grayson Hosts Summit on Civic
Literacy

(Erlanger, KY)-As the presidential election draws near, the nation's attention on civic involvement reaches a fevered pitch.
Media outlets across the country discuss daily the much anticipated voter turnout. As usual, most pundits expect participation by young Americans in this year's election to be low and numerous theories sprout up as to why 18-to 24-year olds feel disenfranchised from the political process.

GUEST COLUMNS

- Guest Column by Jeff Smith:
"Kentucky Right to Life or Right to Left Which is it?"

Kentucky Right To Life, often referred to as the premier organization in Kentucky standing up for the rights of the unborn, is watched closely during elections to see whom they support and whom they do not support. Kentuckians who still care about the rights of the unborn, and that is a lot of us according to polls and pressure applied in Frankfort, look to KRLA for advice when it comes time to cast a vote. Does this mean that we should use organizations like KRLA to make up our minds for us?

"Journey of Discovery to GOP Convention in NYC"

The Big Apple, the city that never sleeps or the "Gateway to America" — New York City has been described in many ways for many years. I had my first opportunity to visit this magnificent city a couple weeks ago. It was an honor to be selected as one of 46 Kentucky delegates to the Republican National Convention.
