Whiners
Whine While We Watch
Here we go again. The “spoiled classes” of government employees, namely teachers, are whining about a small increase in their health insurance costs, which isn’t slated to occur until 2005. While the rest of us out here, who pay for all this garbage through coercive taxation, have been suffering increased health insurance costs along with less coverage for several years now, the sheltered classes of whiners who work for the government are finally starting to feel the sting, only in a much less severe way, and you would think the sky was falling from listening to their silly rants.
I say, “WAKE UP, teachers!” You live in a sheltered fantasy world. A world where you only have to work for 20 years until you retire, and then you collect from the system a healthy bounty until you die. Let’s see, graduate from the easiest college on campus, the College of Education at age 22, work for 20 years until age 42, retire and collect a healthy pension until death at say 82. Hmmm, that is 40 years collecting from a system you only worked 20 years to support. What a fantasy world; sign me up!
During their “tenure”, where they don’t have to worry about performing to keep their jobs (imagine that, private sector brothers and sisters out there), teachers only work nine months out of the year, and those nine months are full of field trips, movie days, several holidays, a Spring Break, a huge Christmas Break, and all the sick days your boredom can handle with substitutes there to take your place in your absence. Wow!
Here in Fayette County, Kentucky, teachers start out at $30,000.00 per year for only nine months’ work. Do the math here. That equates to a $40,000.00 starting salary for some kid fresh out of college full of naivete and inexperience. No wonder they live in the clouds and whine all the time. They have never really left school or had to work any length of time in the real world, with real pressures, and real bad retirement and health insurance plans. Those teachers who have worked in the private sector, but now teach, know how good they have it, and they aren’t going back.
It isn’t enough for these whiners just to speak up about the little hike in their health insurance. We all know that democrat party operatives control unions of all flavors, and teachers are probably the worst ones outside the AFL/CIO. Now, they are using this little sting in their take home pay, which the rest of us have been feeling for years now, to assault the administration of Ernie Fletcher, arguably the most over-qualified Governor this state has ever had the honor of having at the helm. It never ends with liberals -- assault, assault, and assault!
You know, I can’t even use the public education system that I am forced to pay mountains of dollars to support. Why? Because the system is subverted into probably the most liberal of institutions known to man. While we try to teach our family values to our children, they go to public schools and…
… are assaulted;
… have drugs pushed on them;
… are taught that homosexuality is a life choice;
… are taught that guns are evil and kill people as if a person is not required to pull the trigger;
… are taught that the Civil War was merely about slavery and nothing else;
… are taught that The United States is NOT a Christian nation with Christian heritage;
… are taught that the Vietnam War was about the Viet Cong in South Vietnam wanting the U. S. out of South Vietnam when in reality the Viet Cong were victims of North Vietnamese terrorism forced to fight or be killed or have their families killed;
… are taught that the TET Offensive of 1968 was a win for the North Vietnamese when, in reality, it was a huge defeat;
… are taught that America is a democracy when, in reality, America is a Constitutional Republic;
… are given a very weak foundation of our heritage and what is required to maintain Liberty;
… come out knowing nothing but very vague basics about our Constitution and how it was formed;
… and on and on and on.
Teachers - start teaching without your naïve liberal bias and get back to the basics in K-12 education. Start doing your job and stop trying to socially indoctrinate our children. Stop hiding behind tenure and reject it, for it is wrong. Stop allowing subverted textbooks full of misinformation and lies to be used in your classrooms. Stop worrying about our children’s self-esteem. Punish them when they act out of line, and that doesn’t mean just wearing a t-shirt you disagree with. Stop using the schools as a place to socialize our children into your naïve ways of thinking. We will handle the family values; you just do the readin’ writin’ and rithmetic’!
Don't get me wrong, there are some good teachers, and if you teachers reading this understand and are already wise to what I am saying, you are in that category. If teachers would do these things, they may find that the rest of us support them 110%. However, in light of the leftist subversion going on within our schools these days, the socializing and globalist thinking thrust upon our children, and the un-American and un-Christian values being taught, most of us who can think, and that ain’t a whole lot thanks to public schools, don’t have much sympathy for their little $600.00 cost hike in health insurance, which is truthfully covered in their raises. We didn’t get a raise this year, or last year for that matter, and our health insurance has taken a dive for three straight years. Get a clue, teachers and stop whining about nothing!
