John Riley on Education and Religion

Amen! Resa, thanks for making such a clear point!

The left tries to "separate religion and state" at the same time they insist on THEIR religion (either atheism or Gaia, or both) being pushed on students as if THEY are not religions.   The historical facts are that we are a Christian nation that has been hijacked and led astray. You are so correct that the public schools are now "temples of atheism", and they are also "temples of Gaia (earth worship)".

Christianity is no longer "tolerated" in our public schools, public events or our workplaces and even Christian churches are prohibited from entering the public debate in our election process.  All the while, atheism and Gaia are allowed to be advanced in the minds of our people and our children unimpeded.

We, unfortunately, are and will continue to pay the price.

. . . `Indoctrinate children'

David Hawpe wants religious families to send their children to public schools in order to evangelize. He expects impressionable, defenseless children to be able to stand up to atheist textbooks, curricula and policies.

It should come as no surprise to find, after years of experience, that the public schools successfully indoctrinate children from religious families into accepting beliefs their families abhor, teaching them to put their faith in the state rather than in God.

Not only should religious families not continue to sacrifice their children in a vain attempt to be "salt and light" for the world, but they also should not be forced to financially support the public schools' "temples of atheism" any more than atheists should be forced to financially support churches.
