Kentucky Young Professionals for Bush ’04 Rollout Statewide
Organization
Young Professionals for George W. Bush 2004 (YP4W04) is a
fundraising and grassroots program for young professionals.
YP4W ‘04 will build support across Kentucky through chapter
development in every county in the state as a project of Bush- Cheney ‘04 Inc.
- State Grassroots Chairman Derek Combs
Mr. Derek Combs is an Honor Graduate of the Federal Law
Enforcement Training Center. He is currently employed with the
U.S. Dept of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. He is a Mid- Atlantic Regional
Trainer for Rapid Start Information
Management Systems. Mr. Combs was a highly decorated 1st
Lieutenant in the Kentucky Army National Guard. Derek has
served as a surveillance team leader with the Governor's
Marijuana Strike/Task Force. He is also an Alumni of the
American Council of Young Political Leaders and was recently
nominated by Senator McConnell and Congressman Rogers and
selected to participate in an international political exchange
delegation to Northern Ireland and Great Britain. Derek Combs
is an active leader in the Kentucky Republican Party. He
presently serves as the State Chairman of the Kentucky Young
Republican Federation. He has served as the Montgomery
County Campaign Chairman for: George Herbert Walker Bush,
George W. Bush, Senator Mitch McConnell and Senator Jim
Bunning.
- State Finance Chairman Eric Lycan
Mr. Eric Lycan is a Lexington business attorney with a strong
record of community service and leadership. Eric graduated
from Centre College in 1992 with a B.A. in Economics and
Government and received his law degree from the University of
Kentucky in 1995. Among his other accomplishments, Eric is
the President and Chairman of the Board of the Lexington
Young Professionals Association, and President-elect of the
Lexington Children’s Theatre Board of Directors. He serves on
the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Bluegrass, and
also on the Leadership Council of United Way’s Success By Six
children’s initiative. He has been appointed by two mayors to
the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Ethics
Commission, and was honored in 2003 with the LYPA Rising
Star award, awarded to Lexington’s top up-and-coming young
professionals. Eric was the Fayette County Co-Chair for Young
Professionals for Fletcher in the 2003 gubernatorial election.
- State Communication Director Bryan Mills
Mr. Bryan Mills is employed by Datatrac Information Services
of Corbin, Kentucky as an Instructor for the Drug Enforcement
Administration. His community involvement includes serving as
a member of the London-Laurel County YMCA, Baptist
Regional Medical Center Customer Satisfaction Council, Corbin
Rotary, and is an Alumni member of Tri-County leadership.
Bryan has served as the Aide to State Senator Albert Robinson,
and as a member of the Republican Party of Kentucky
Executive Committee from 2003-2004. He is most noted for
his creation of the Kentucky Republicans email list that he
created in 1998 to distribute political information to Republicans
across the state of Kentucky. Currently, Bryan lives in Southern
Laurel County with his wife, Jackie Wilson Mills, and daughter,
Brittany Jacinda Mills.
