NA-NA-NA-NA, HEY-HEY-HEY...GOOOOD-BYE
“In the volatile open CD-5 race,” reports Politics1 on yesterday’s GOP primary
contest in North Carolina, “Winston-Salem City Councilman Vernon Robinson and
State Senator Virginia Foxx surprised the pundits by placing first and second,
respectively, in the GOP primary with 24% and 22%. Businessman Ed Broyhill --
son of former US Senator Jim Broyhill and the presumed frontrunner -- finished
third with 21%.”
And it appears our buddy, Li’l Nate Taylor, came in an embarrassing FIFTH place,
despite spending a ton of the family fortune, lying his butt off and portraying
himself as the most “Christian” goodie-two-shoes this side of the Atlantic. We
take great satisfaction in the part we played exposing Nathan Taylor for the
boob that he is. The voters got the truth about this yutz...and acted
accordingly.
IS KERRY A GIRLIE MAN, TOO?
“What's amazing about the spat over whether Hillary would get a primetime
convention speech was how quickly Kerry retreated. No sooner had his aides
insulted Clinton by saying, first, she hadn't asked for a role and second, the
convention was about the 'future' then they caved and asked her to speak. Begged
would be more accurate. Kerry's the king all right, but Clinton's the
unchallenged Queen of Democrats -- and the King better not forget it again."
- New York Daily News columnist Michael Goodwin
CLINTON CRIME SYNDICATE STRIKES AGAIN!
“President Clinton's national security adviser, Samuel R. Berger, is the focus
of a criminal investigation after removing highly classified documents and
handwritten notes from a secure reading room while preparing for the September
11 commission hearings. . . . Some drafts of a sensitive after-action report on
the Clinton administration's handling of al Qaeda terror threats during the
December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing.
“Mr. Berger and his attorney told the Associated Press last night that he
knowingly removed handwritten notes that he had taken from classified
anti-terror documents he reviewed at the National Archives by sticking them in
his jacket and pants. . . . ‘In the course of reviewing over several days
thousands of pages of documents on behalf of the Clinton administration in
connection with requests by the Sept. 11 commission, I inadvertently took a few
documents from the Archives,’ Mr. Berger stated. ‘When I was informed by the
Archives that there were documents missing, I immediately returned everything I
had except for a few documents that I apparently had accidentally discarded,’ he
said.”
- Associated Press, 7/20/04
ZIP IT
“Leave it to a member of the Clinton administration to find the solution to his
problems in his pants.”
- Kerri Houston on reports that former Clinton security adviser Sandy Berger hid
possibly incriminating documents in his trousers to sneak them out of the
National Archives
DOUBLE STANDARD
“If [Condoleezza] Rice had been caught stuffing her blouse with highly
classified handwritten notes from the days after 9/11, what would be going on in
D.C. right now?"
- Syndicated radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt
THE REVIEWS ARE IN…
“The incident (booing and walk-out on Linda Ronstadt at the Aladdin Resort last
Saturday night) capped a generally lackluster, unenthusiastic performance by one
of the top singers of the '70s and '80s. . . . Although she still has that
powerful, distinctive voice, Ronstadt was merely going through the motions. . .
. She stumbled over the lyrics (of ‘Blue Bayou), seemed to gasp for breath at
one point and ended the song in Spanish, screaming the words rather than singing
them. Her performance was uninspired and generally flat. She lacked stage
presence, doing little more than sleepwalk from song to song. The fiasco at the
end was the most exciting part of the show.”
- Jerry Fink of the Las Vegas Sun
MOORE-ON RESPONDS
Michael Moore is a jackass. No...he’s the Jackass King.
He wrote a letter yesterday to Aladdin Resort President Bill Timmins complaining
about Timmins’ decision to give Ronstadt the ol’ heave-ho after she dedicated a
song to Moore at Saturday’s appearance and urged audience members to go see
Moore’s Bush-whacking crockumentary. “(I)n the United States, we have something
called The First Amendment,” Moore wrote. “This constitutional right gives
everyone here the right to say whatever they want to say.”
Now, although Moore IS a jackass, he could also serve as a useful idiot. Let’s
HOPE that parents and schools (well, the private ones anyway) across the nation
will now explain to their kids why this blowhard’s claim is nothing but pure,
uneducated, ignorant crap. The First Amendment, if Moore would actually take the
time to read it, states that CONGRESS shall make no law inhibiting free speech.
Congress did nothing to limit Ronstadt’s free speech. Therefore, there was no
violation of her First Amendment rights. Duh.
People DO have a right to free speech...but they do NOT have a “right” to a
platform for that speech. Ronstadt is perfectly free to stand out on the
sidewalk in front of the Aladdin and encourage everyone she sees to waste eight
bucks on Moore’s movie. But she does NOT have the “right” to do it from the
Aladdin’s stage.
That Moore and other Hollywood elites don’t “get” this is indicative of the
shallow understanding these pampered liberals have for the nature of freedom in
this country and the principles of the Founding Fathers. That any American could
be stupid enough to take these idiots seriously and actually believe anything
they say about what is “American” is deeply troubling.
Speaking of which...
WACKOS-’R-US IN THE MAILBAG
Boy, do we get some doozies from time to time.
Some guy going by the Internet name of Ted Gifford (“but everyone knew him as
Nancy”) sent us an email saying, “Ronstadt’s right. So is Moore.” To which I
replied, “What's your point? That you're an idiot, too?” Well, that really got
this kook’s juices flowing...and he fired off the following rant…
“You are one of the phony establishment pseudo-conservatives dedicated to
shielding the globocrats from exposure, not unlike Limbaugh and Hannity in your
phony globospeak. How much are they paying you Chuck? Who exactly gives you
your script? Do you meet clandestinely with one of the scum bags while you're
schmoozing with all your plutocrat buddies at one of your many beltway events?
Have they promised you a place at the global village table?
“You're nothing but one of their useful idiots. They train all their useful
idiots to bring out the black helicopters when someone gets a little too close
to home. They will dispense of you like yesterday's garbage once they have
gotten their usefulness out of you. You're a lackey my friend, an expendable
flunky. You will lose in the end, and so will they.”
Oh, my!
One: Where do I sign up to get the money…’cause I ain’t seen a dime of it yet?
Two: “Mister X” gives me the daily script. We meet clandestinely at Union
Station in Washington. (Oops. Note to self...change clandestine meeting
location) Three: I’m starting to think my friend and conservative talk-show host
Brian Wilson is correct: We ARE doomed...as long as wingnuts such as “Ted
Gifford” (if that IS his real name) are allowed in voting booths.
Speaking of being doomed, let’s check in with the Republican Senate leadership,
shall we?...
OF BLUNDERS AND TRAIN WRECKS
“Majority Leader Bill Frist lost his customary smile last Tuesday in addressing
the weekly meeting of Republican senators. . . . Frist had an excuse for
looking haggard. He was in the middle of two of the worst weeks for any Senate
leader in memory. Republicans pulled defeat from the jaws of victory when
Democrats killed a bill to curb trial lawyers. That was followed by last week's
fiasco, when Republicans could not even win a simple majority to ban homosexual
marriages. The 49-member Democratic minority was running the Senate.
“…(I)n the tight little world of the Senate, Democrats are in the driver's seat.
They have blocked President Bush's federal judicial nominees, and Republicans
have been unable to pass a budget. . . . Republicans have been on a catastrophic
course. Multiple parliamentary blunders transformed a solid Senate majority for
the class action lawsuit bill into a failed attempt for 60 votes to impose
cloture. Republican senators were even more baffled and dismayed by the tactical
train wreck on gay marriage when Republicans could collect only 48 votes.”
- Columnist Bob Novak
WITH SUCH EXCEPTIONS & REGULATIONS...
“(I)n all cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and
those in which a State shall be Party, the Supreme Court shall have original
Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases...the Supreme Court shall have appellate
Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such
Regulations as the Congress shall make."
- Article 3, Section 2 or the United States Constitution
PROTECTING STATES’ RIGHTS ON MARRIAGE
“The U.S. House will soon vote on legislation (H.R. 3313) to limit federal court
jurisdiction over questions arising under the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act or
DOMA. DOMA allows the 50 states to determine for themselves whether or not to
recognize same-sex marriage licenses issued by other states. . . . H.R. 3313,
introduced by Liberty Caucus member Representative John Hostettler, would ensure
that the 50 states continue to decide state marriage policy; not the federal
courts.”
- The Liberty Committee, 7/20/04
COURT STRIPPING NEITHER PARTISAN NOR RARE
“Limiting federal court jurisdiction is neither a partisan issue nor a rare
occurrence. For example, Senate Minority Leader Daschle inserted language in
legislation enacted during the last Congress that denied all federal courts
jurisdiction over the procedures governing timber projects in order to expedite
forest clearing. If limiting the jurisdiction of the federal courts is good
enough to protect trees, shouldn't it be good enough to protect a state's
marriage policy?"
- Rep. Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner, chairman of the House Committee on the
Judiciary, 7/14/04
IMMIGRATION NATION
Part Two of the Washington Times’ three-part series on illegal immigration came
out on Tuesday, and the picture isn’t pretty. For instance, the Times reports
that “more than 90 percent of all outstanding homicide warrants” in Los Angeles
“are for illegal aliens.” And of more than 3,200 foreign nationals and permanent
U.S. residents who the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency picked
up as suspected child molesters over the past year, “About half of those
arrested were illegal aliens.” Yet “sanctuary laws” across the country prevent
local law enforcement personnel from even informing “federal immigration
officials about illegal aliens they discover during the normal course of their
duties.”
And folks inside-the-beltway still wonder why average Americans are breaking out
the pitchforks over the illegal immigration issue? Check out the full Part Two
of this series by going to: http://washingtontimes.com/national/20040720-120953-3166r.htm
GUNS VS. NO GUNS
Criticism is mounting in Virginia against the state’s laws which allow folks to
carry guns in public...and some Democrat state legislators are proposing new
restrictions. Meanwhile, across the Potomac in Washington, DC - where some of
the nation’s strictest gun laws are in effect - Police Chief Charles Ramsey just
declared a “crime emergency.” The District “enjoys” FAR more murders, rapes and
robberies than its gun-toting Fairfax County, Virginia, neighbor - despite
having about half as many residents.
Go figure.
