This last week a controversy arose in Louisville over the
distribution of a pro-Bush bumper sticker at the Jefferson
County Republican Party Headquarters. The bumper sticker
implied that supporting the candidacy of John Kerry would be a
victory for the terrorists. After pressure was placed on the local
Republican Party by liberal Democrats the bumper stickers were
denounced by Louisville Republican Congresswoman Anne
Northup. This resulted in a severe undermining of the solidarity
of the Republican Party. The campaign by the liberal Democrats
was so intense that this story made it to the national level
appearing on Fox News, MSNBC, and other media outlets.
After contacting Jefferson County Republican Party Executive
Director Merv Brandes to find out the identity of the
manufacturer of these bumper stickers he informed us that no
one has taken credit for them at this time. He also pointed out
that the office had received dozens of phone calls requesting the
bumper stickers not only from Louisville but from as far away as
California.
That is when we decided that it was time to draw a line in the
sand. The liberal Democrats implied that this bumper sticker
“goes way over the line.” We disagree! It doesn’t go far
enough. John Kerry is a disgrace to America. He has
dishonored two generations of American Service men and
women with his actions after Vietnam and his votes against
Defense Spending in the U.S. Senate. If he were ever elected
President the policies of his administration would weaken our
country and invite future acts of terrorism. Fellow Conservatives
it is time to stand together against the liberal Democrats. Let us
together show them that “President Bush is OUR Man.”
