Revisions
There are three minor revisions to existing Bylaws, proposed by Bill
Westmiller, that deal with officer qualifications and electronic
communications.

"Statement of Position"
Amendments
Delegates will consider two proposals to replace the existing
national RLC "Statement".
Bill Westmiller has proposed wording revisions of the existing text, an
introductory Principles statement and a neutral abortion position.
John Reed has proposed the Principles statement of the Texas RLC and an
abbreviated set of short issue statements. He has also offered revisions to
the RLC Mission Statement. |

RLC Candidates |
|
The Republican Liberty Caucus national Board has
endorsed several candidates for federal and state offices.
Members are urged to contact the campaigns or contribute to federal
candidates via the
RLCUSA-PAC. |

Pat Toomey
Pennsylvania US Senate
|
Rep. Toomey is challenging incumbent Arlen Specter for the
Republican US Senate nomination.
The state primary is April 27th.
The RLC has endorsed Toomey, who has had consistently high (libertarian)
ratings on the
RLC Liberty Index in
the House , contrasted with Specter's poor (centrist) ratings in the Senate.

Frank Ryan
Pennsylvania 17th CD

|
Ryan is an
enthusiastic signator of the RLC Liberty Compact and actively sought the
RLC's unanimous endorsement. His background includes a career in business
and accounting as well as service in the Marine Corps. Ryan is a top
contender to win his primary [April 27th] contest.

Vernon Robinson
North Carolina 5th CD
|
Robinson is a two-term member of the Winston- Salem City
Council. In 1996 he narrowly lost a race for state Superintendent of Public
Education. The Wall Street Journal notes that Robinson carried every county
in the Fifth District.
The RLC has endorsed Robinson as the best candidate among a large field of
Republican primary [July 20, 2004] contenders.

Federal Candidates: |
The RLC has endorsed a large number of candidates who have
already won primaries or are unopposed: Ron Paul, TX; Jeff Flake, AZ; Dana
Rohrabacher, CA; and others. |
Hewitt is a signator of RLC Liberty Compact and serves as
RLC Michigan Chairman. Hewitt brings twenty years of experience as a
restaurant owner, Finance Manager, Vice President and National Sales Manager
to complement his strong commitment to small government, low taxes and
individual liberty.
His primary is August 3, 2004.

Florida RLC members hosted a popular OPH booth for the Southern Republican
Leadership Conference at the Fountainbleau Hilton in Miami Beach over the
April 17th weekend.
Philip Blumel, Alan Turin, Tom Walls, Dick Crockett, Dave and Tami Bell
got a warm reception from party activists and prominent GOP officials. They
hope to re-Charter the Florida RLC at a meeting next month.

Luncheon with Ron Paul

The
Texas RLC joined with the Houston Area Business and Professional Chapter of
the John Birch Society to host a luncheon address on April 16th with RLC
Advisory Board Member Rep. Ron Paul.
Paul's topic: "The Seduction of Traditional Conservatism: The
Neoconservative Agenda of Big Government and Internationalism"

Banquet with Jeff Flake

The
Arizona RLC recently hosted a banquet for Rep. Jeff Flake at the Gainey
Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale.
Flake is one of many RLC-Arizona Advisors, that include the Secretary of
State, State Treasurer, three other Congressmen and the Chairman of the
Goldwater Institute. The Chartered RLC officers include the Chairs of the
Arizona Senate Finance Committee and the House Appropriations Committee.

National RLC Board has certified a new Michigan Charter, with the election
of officers and adoption of state Bylaws. Officers include Chairman
Mike Hewitt,
Vice Chair Jason Miller, Treasurer William John Matthis III and Secretary
Joe Sylvester. |
