Hello from the Bluegrass Institute!

Good news is occurring outside the Commonwealth.  In the midst of Kentucky's challenges of funding state government, attracting and keeping entrepreneurship, and educating our children, the world marches on as if our problems didn't matter.  Our latest Perspective will challenge you to look outside our state to really understand the problems we face.

As the rest of the world is rocketing toward more human liberty, freer markets and less government, why is the political leadership in Kentucky championing ideas that history have already proven to be wrong-headed? Over the six thousand years of recorded history, experience clearly demonstrates that when human liberty increases, prosperity necessarily follows; but when liberty recedes, so does the affluence attached to it. Our founding fathers understood this perspective. Do we think today we are somehow immune from this principle?

My friend and colleague, Larry Reed, recently toured parts of Asia on behalf of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation, and we are republishing, with permission, his worldly perspective, which can be viewed for your reading pleasure by clicking below:

Good news from Korea, China and Vietnam.

The Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions is Kentucky's only independent research-based educational institution committed to changing the way Kentuckians view government.
