Statement from auto expert on SJR3 passage... VETO the VET
"Larry:
Sorry........EPA, surely working through Rep. Jim Callahan, has trashed all of your hard work. This is unfortunate. EPA is now free to use any data it chooses to justify its flawed auto emissions test program. No less than the National Academy of Sciences has declared EPA's I/M data as flawed but that has had no influence on EPA dedication to doing what it wants to do without benefit of credible measured facts. In addition, a high percentage of auto emissions problems are caused by component failures and gasoline quality problems over which motorists have no control. EPA has made it clear to me it doesn't care one whit about this. You did your best for which I congratulate you and your group. I hope I am wrong but the outlook is grim. Bob "
I agree Bob on your assessment of Jim Callahan & N KY
Chamber's SJR3 amendment, however, we have begun a process that has
educated the public, something the press has been unable or
unwilling to do. Investigative reporting is reserved for poltician's
sex lives apparently. VOTERS WILL make the difference one way or the
other. The EPA's tactics are costing this country jobs, taxes and future
economic growth and is not substantially cleaning the air of the world....just
moving it over seas. Some of their theories may in fact be causing part of the
problems...look at MTBE in groundwater and causes cancer. Ethanol
is a poor additives when it is hot...like the summer time but the EPA is today
forcing it's use in many more states....why, because it is a corn subsidy from
the federal government. The EPA is fighting the removal of Ethanol or MTBE
from gasoline.
Thanks for your support and info,
Sincerely for Clean Air,
Larry Brown Ph 859 282-0222 Member of VETO the VET (Ending Vehicle Emission Testing) www.vetothevet.com
