Ensuring That a Tax Cut Really Is a Tax Cut
Governor Rick Perry - Austin American-Statesman
... My proposal
empowers local taxpayers. If a local government needs or wants to
increase property tax revenues and related spending, they are free to
do so with the consent of local voters. Homeowners and taxpayers will
have more power to control their own taxpaying destiny.

Editorial Observation:
At least we know
what Governor Perry's meaning of the word "is", is. |

Sweeny Students Send Perry Important Message
Kelly Hawes - The Facts
... Forty
students and 38 school employees at Sweeny Junior High School
recently sent off letters giving the governor their thoughts on the
funding program dubbed Robin Hood.
They're hoping he'll call a special legislative session to
overhaul it.

Editorial Request and Observation:
End it, don't mend it.
The more local control there is for
schools, the better it is for school children.

We're Just Exercising Our Liberties
Andy Taylor - Dallas Morning News
... The harsh

Business is on firm ground, and the voter information activities of
the group in 2002 remain beyond reproach.
How can I say
that so emphatically? It is crystal clear. The fundamental issue is
free speech and the right of Texans – indeed, of all Americans – to
come together to debate, to petition and to protest.
