"Predatory Practices."
"Monied Wall Street Investors."
"Ruthless Exploitation of Workers."
"Corporate Irresponsibility."
"Selfish Businessmen."
"Sweatshops."
"Robber Barons."
Where did I find these anti-business slogans and phrases?
CBS, ABC, and NBC. CNN and CNBC. The New York Times. The Washington
Post. USA Today. The Boston Globe. And PBS, because if they don't
bash business, who will? Newsweek, Time, and U.S. News and World
Report. Even on the non-editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal.
In their "News Coverage." In the last 30 days.
Some of these News Organizations used the phrases in their
"reporting." Some quote business-hating "Consumer" and "Watchdog"
"Public Interest" Groups who say it for the publication. Some do
both.
These phrases reflect a virulent anti-business bias in America's News
Media.
Test it for yourself. Do an experiment.
Watch CNN or PBS for 30 days. Write down every anti-business phrase
you hear. Read The New York Times, the Washington Post, or the Boston
Globe for 30 days. Circle or highlight every anti-business phrase you
read.
During these 30 days, write down or circle every anti-federal, state,
and local government phrase you hear or read. Compare them to the
anti-business phrases above - and those you find.
During these 30 days, write down or circle every anti-union, anti-
consumer group, anti-"Public Interest", AND anti-public education
phrase you hear or read. Compare them to the business-bashing
phrases.
If America's news media used this sort of biased phrasing in articles
and stories criticizing African-Americans or Latino-Americans, they'd
face full-scale riots.
If they used these kinds of loaded words and biased language in
articles and stories criticizing unions or public schools, they would
be picketed, protested, and boycotted.
But it's safe for them to revile and malign business men and women.
They can spotlight the handful of individuals who are accused of
theft or fraud. And they can act as if those accused are typical
business owners, executives, or shareholders.
Tens of millions of American business people provide goods and
services to almost 300,000,000 Americans - and tens of millions more
customers overseas.
When they succeed, they are ignored. Or attacked.
When they fail, they are blamed for "throwing employees out on the
streets." But for these entrepreneurs, those employees would have no
jobs to begin with.
Despite the burdens and mandates and obstacles that government puts
in the way of creating and operating businesses, America's heroic
business people serve customers, create jobs, reward investors,
support themselves and their families, contribute to their
community's well-being, and make America a far better place.
America's businesses are the engine of prosperity.
Most business people are forgotten heroes.
America's News Media is poisoning our attitudes toward business and
lobbying government to cripple and destroy them.
If you and I buy into the Anti-Business Bias of America's News Media,
we've signed up for assisted economic suicide.

+++ GIVE MARTHA STEWART A MEDAL +++
by Carla Howell
The purpose of law enforcement is to create justice by apprehending
and punishing those who do us harm.
Martha Stewart was convicted for obstructing government INjustice.
For standing in the way of people who do us harm.
If the U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of New York
acted in accordance with their alleged mission of justice, they would
give Martha Stewart a medal of honor. And a parade.
If justice were our goal, David Kelley - the U.S. Attorney who is
attempting to destroy her life, reputation, and business empire -
would be headed for jail.
Instead, we should expect to see Kelley run for political office in
the future and build his political career on the back of an innocent
citizen.
Where did this nifty idea come from? The playbook of Big Government
politicians like Rudy Giuliani who became mayor of New York City
after imprisoning the innocent Michael Milken. Like Scott Harshbarger
who became Massachusetts Attorney General after locking up the
innocent Amirault family.
Watch David Kelley snag millions of dollars from taxpayers for
exorbitant pensions, benefits, and other forms of Big Government
largess during the remainder of his political career. He made his
bones with Martha Stewart.
Injustice will continue unless we stop voting for Big Government
politicians - and vote only for those who move us in the direction of
small government.
Injustice in our courts is a casualty of Big Government.
Thousands of laws and regulations on the books can be used to
prosecute almost anyone any time. That's why it's estimated that the
average American citizen commits a "crime" every 7 seconds.
The privileges and monopolies that Big Government grants exclusively
to the major media encourage them to distort the truth about court
cases like this one. Martha Stewart joins a growing list if targets
prosecuted in the court of media opinion before their real trial
begins.
The sheer number of Big Government injustices would stagger the
imagination of normal Americans. Federal and state courts render tens
of thousands of unjust verdicts and penalties every year.
Martha Stewart may soon join over one million Americans now serving
time in prison for victimless crimes.
Big Government politicians feed this madness.
Big Government is injustice. That's why we must vote AGAINST all Big
Government politicians and programs - and vote ONLY for candidates
and referenda that move us toward small government.
Small government is our only hope for restoring justice.
