Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

--Abraham Lincoln

Hot off the press – KKK, Licensing schemes, Tax reform, Education Spending, and Jobs        By Theresa Fritz Camoriano

Veto the VET news        On Tuesday March 9th, the House Natural Resources and Environment Protection committee passed SJR3 after Senator Roeding, Rep Marcotte and Larry Brown of VETO the VET spoke in favor of its passage.  The resolution will seek to confirm the unconstitutionality of the Envirotest contract and also directs the Natural Resources and Environment Protection cabinet to submit a revised State Implementation Plan (SIP) allowing for emission testing to end.  Although SJR 3 is not entirely what is desired, an end to testing outright, it is a start.           (click to read more)

REMEMBER THE ALAMO          By Rod D. Martin             "I am besieged.  The enemy has demanded surrender at discretion...I call on you in the name of liberty, of patriotism, and everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid...If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due his honor and that of his country."         (click to read more)

Treaty by Stealth Again - by Henry Lamb The Law of the Seas Treaty was rejected by Ronald Reagan in 1982...All the reasons the treaty was rejected by Ronald Reagan 22 years ago still exist. "Our preference would be for a more modest (gay marriage) amendment, one that would prevent the federal courts from imposing same-sex marriage on the country, but would not foreclose the possibility of its establishment (at the individual state level) if proponents could succeed in the democratic process. (O)ur amendment would read as follows: 'Nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to require any state or the federal government to recognize any marriage except between a man and a woman.'  This would not solve the current problems in Massachusetts and California, but it would prevent them from becoming problems for other states--and in that case, there's no reason to make a federal case out of it."

- James Taranto, Best of the Web, 2/25/04

Weighted down by the education monopoly!

"In business, poor performance leads to bankruptcy or, at a minimum, a restructuring of the company. In American education, failure entitles the bankrupt system to even more taxpayer dollars." - Columnist Cal Thomas

"Greed has replaced religion as the national religion, and with greed comes envy." --Wesley Pruden

"[T]he secret of my success is that at an early age I discovered
I was not God." --Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
