Neal Cavuto -- I knew Atkins. I covered Atkins. The times I saw him he didn't look obese to me. And why would he? He was the poster child for the most talked about diet revolution in human history! You don't stay on message if you're not staying in shape. And the Atkins I saw was staying in shape…He freely told me he battled weight in life…It's a pity he can't battle classless fools in death…Look, I have no ax to grind on Atkins…I do have an ax to grind on fairness. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/neilcavuto/nc20040216.shtml

Clark voters toss school tax increase - Voters in Clark County threw out a 5-cent property-tax increase for schools by nearly 2 to 1 yesterday. The vote served as a reminder of why so few Kentucky school districts pass tax increases that can be challenged in voter referendums. http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/local/7978178.htm

No free lunch – for every benefit there is a cost – Walter Williams One of the effects of competition is that of revealing costs and least-cost methods of production. … We don't have a 5-mile-per-hour speed limit because we've decided that its benefit is not worth the enormous cost. http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=3530

Rush Limbaugh’s health problems – Ron Paul -  In cases where patients are not high profile celebrities like Mr. Limbaugh, it is pain management physicians who bear the brunt of overzealous prosecutors…I would hope my colleagues would agree that doctors, not federal agents, should determine medical standards…. By waging this war on pain physicians, the government is condemning patients to either live with excruciating chronic pain or seek opioids from other, less reliable, sources – such as street drug dealers. Of course opioids bought on the street likely will pose a greater risk of damaging a patient’s health than opioids obtained from a physician….Finally, as the Limbaugh case reveals, the prosecution of pain management physicians destroys the medical privacy of all chronic pain patients…. Finally, I wish to express my hope that Mr. Limbaugh’s case will encourage his many fans and listeners to consider how their support for the federal war on drugs is inconsistent with their support of individual liberty and constitutional government…. .http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul157.html

Failure to I.D. "Meet Dudley Hiibel. He's a 59 year old cowboy who owns a small ranch outside of Winnemucca, Nevada. He lives a simple life, but he's his own man. You probably never would have heard of Dudley Hiibel if it weren't for his belief in the U.S. Constitution.

One balmy May evening back in 2000, Dudley was standing around minding his own business when all of a sudden, a policeman pulled-up and demanded that Dudley produce his ID. Dudley, having done nothing wrong, declined. He was arrested and charged with "failure to cooperate" for refusing to show ID on demand. And it's all on video.

On the 22nd of March 2004, the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether Dudley and the rest of us live in a free society, or in a country where we must show "the papers" whenever a cop demands them.
